Weekend Cooking Party
Oct 20, 2011
The week is full of fun activities like work and exercise. There's rarely much time for cooking or even thinking about cooking. Convenience is king, junk food is eaten, and all your hard work is for naught. The solution: Weekend Cooking Parties! When your friends ask what your plans are for the weekend, invite them over to help you cut up veggies. Running low on money, but need something exciting for a date night? Have a soup cooking contest with your significant other.
Unless you are a rather unique individual, you're probably not going to be able to rope your friends into cooking for you. However, being prepared for the week ahead is crucial. Here are five ideas to help you get through your week, junk food free.
1) Bake 5-6 sweet potatoes.
2) Chop up all your veggies for snacking or quick stir-frys.
3) Bake a whole chicken.
4) Boil a dozen eggs.
5) Make a huge pot of soup.
If you can't get anyone to help, watch a movie on your laptop or listen to some of your favorite music and just bake and chop and boil and freeze until you have lots of healthy choices for the week ahead.
