Get Out and Move This Winter!

Maybe skiing or skating aren't your thing. The good news is you can still get outdoors and move this winter.

As long as you've got the proper footwear and clothing, walking is a wonderful winter activity. Bring a friend or dog along, or simply enjoy the sounds around you.

Walking provides low impact exercise, increased blood flow to your brain and muscles, and the benefits of fresh air! For those of us affected by seasonal mood disorder, an outdoor walk is an instant mood booster. Walking outdoors gives you time to process your thoughts, or have a meaningful conversation with a friend. If it's a sunny day, even better. Research shows that spending time in nature reaps many positive impacts.

So, instead of spending a free hour watching Netflix, do your body and mind a favor and bundle up for an outdoor walk.
