August Client of the Month: Meaghan S.
Aug 16, 2026
How Did Meaghan Get Started Again?
When Meaghan joined Fitness Together Burlington in January 2026, it had been about six years since she had worked out consistently.
She wanted to get stronger, build muscle, lose some weight, improve her flexibility, and hopefully have more energy and better sleep.
But like a lot of people returning to exercise, she wasn’t sure where to begin.
Her body had changed, life was busy, and previous issues with her lower back, knee, and left arm needed to be considered.
So we didn’t try to do everything at once.
We started with the basics: good form, strength, mobility, and a routine that worked for her.
Then Meaghan did the most important thing.
She kept showing up.
What Has Meaghan Accomplished?
Six months later, the progress speaks for itself.
Meaghan has:
- Lost 12 pounds
- Maintained her lean body mass
- Reduced her overall body fat
- Lost inches throughout her body, including 4 inches around her belly button
- Built strength and confidence in what her body can do
She’s also performing exercises and everyday activities that previously bothered her knee and lower back.
And she continues to get stronger, including progressing toward heavier lifts such as trap bar deadlifts.
The weight loss is great.
But what we’re most excited about is that Meaghan didn’t just lose weight—she built strength.
Why Is Building Strength Important to Meaghan?
Meaghan’s goals go beyond what she sees on the scale.
She wants to stay strong as she gets older and do what she can now to support her bone health and physical abilities in the future.
That’s an important distinction.
Fitness isn’t just about changing how you look today. It’s about building a body that can continue doing the things you want it to do years from now.
Why Does Meaghan Inspire Us?
Meaghan’s story is a great example of what starting over can look like.
She didn’t walk into Fitness Together already in shape. She didn’t have the perfect routine. She had been away from consistent exercise for six years and had some physical limitations we needed to work around.
She simply decided it was time to start.
Six months later, she’s stronger, moving better, and more confident in what her body can do.
That’s progress worth celebrating.
We’re proud to recognize Meaghan as our August Client of the Month and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it too late to start strength training after years away?
No. A good program should start with your current abilities and progress gradually rather than expecting you to pick up where you left off years ago.
Can personal training be adjusted around previous injuries or limitations?
Yes. At Fitness Together Burlington, each program is personalized around the individual, including their goals, abilities, training history, and physical limitations.
Do I need to get in shape before starting personal training?
No. That’s what the training is for. We meet you where you are and build from there.
