Fitness Together's Healthy Food Bracket
It is a very exciting time of year in the sports world with the big tournament upon us. Over the years I've listened to numerous radio talk shows and they have done a bracket for "Best Rockstar's," "Greatest Quarterback," "Best Movie," and even "Best Thanksgiving Food." So I thought to myself what a great tie-in. So we decided, in main part, to get some solid Facebook discussion going why not do a healthy food bracket!
We are very excited about this part there are a few things that you should be aware of when you are reading this and/or checking in for updates to our bracket:
- THIS IS FOR FUN: It is hard to determine the absolute healthiest food because certain foods are better for certain things. If you are hiking, for example, chicken breast won't get you very far but granola would. However, I would urge most of our clients to eat chicken more frequently and not eat the granola.
- Multiple Trainers Will Contribute: Every trainer's belief might be slightly different when it comes to nutrition, as it is a complicated thing. Therefore, to make it fun we are all going to participate in filling out the bracket.
- A Fun Opportunity To Learn: Every food listed in this tournament is "healthy" but this could help you gain some insight into why we believe certain foods are good. Hopefully, you can learn something and apply it to your daily nutrition or at the very least be aware.
- Matches And Updates: The next match will be announced every day or night(does not include weekends), so feel free to chime in and let us know who you want to win or who you think will win. It's more fun if more people participate. Each match will be logged in its own separate blog and a new bracket picture showing the advancing foods will be posted after each round is completed.
The first match will feature Number 1 overall seed (1) Beans vs (8) Okra. Tomorrow.
