(5) Whole Wheat Bread vs (7) Zucchini

Tale of the Tape
Whole Wheat Bread (1 Slice): 1g Fat, 13g Carbs, 3g Protein
Zucchini (1 Cup): 0g Fat, 4g Carbs, 1g Protein
Looking completely at the macronutrients, both these foods have roughly the same ratio (If you have 3 cups of Zucchini, you’d have 0g Fat, 12g Carbs, 3g Protein). First real point of contention for me is the fact that Zucchini can be eaten any time of day, whereas, while the Whole Wheat Bread serves as a great source of energy it would simply be too much on the system the later in the day you eat it (generally I stay away from it after 3 PM).
When we look at micronutrients, Zucchini is much more diverse with 20 micronutrients to Whole Wheat Bread’s 5. That said Whole Wheat Bread does have more nutrients in those 5 per serving (If we look at the ratio on a scale that has the macronutrients equal, Zucchini would have more or be extremely close). Zucchini also rates lower on the glycemic index. Another thing to note is Whole Wheat Bread also contains Gluten which is becoming a more common food allergy.
Seeing how Zucchini edges out Whole Wheat Bread in Macronutrients, Micronutrients and is lower on the glycemic index, I feel confident in saying Zucchini wins regardless of whether we take into account that Whole Wheat Bread contains Gluten.
Verdict: (7) Zucchini defeats (5) Whole Wheat Bread
