Oatmeal (1 cup): 3g Fat, 27g Carbs, 6g Protein
Bison Burger (3 oz): 13g Fat, 0g Carbs, 20g Protein
I apologize in advance to all the bison burger fans out there, while bison burgers are MUCH better than hamburgers, and i'm sure you can find leaner cuts than I was able to find but the bison burger can't come anywhere close to oatmeal. Oatmeal in my opinion was under seeded to begin with. Oatmeal is so good for you on so many levels, the only time I'd advise against eating oatmeal is dinner time. It is an amazing source of Carbs, boosts solid protein for being a Carb and while there is some Fat it is a healthy amount.
If we go into the micro nutrients, the only thing bison burgers really have is 15%** of your daily intake of iron...that's really it. Oatmeal has 77%** it also has magnesium, vitamin A and C. Oatmeal clearly wins here.
**Based on 2000 calorie diet
In Macro nutrients the bison burger basically eliminates it's self with it's high fat content. Good Lesson: Protein should always be double that of Fat in any Protein at the least!
