(2) Broccoli vs (4) Turkey

Tale of the Tape
Broccoli (1 Cup Chopped): 0.5g Fat, 6g Carbs, 2.5g Protein
Turkey (4 oz): 1g Fat, 0g Carbs, 34g Protein
Here we have one of the most micronutrient packed veggies versus one of the leanest cuts of Protein you can find. Ultimately, both of these foods should be a staple in EVERYONE’S diet but there must be a winner.
Broccoli, as we’ve discussed is so good for you, it is loaded with micronutrients, packing 24 vitamins and minerals with many of them being quality amounts. Broccoli is also one of, if not the best food source at fighting cancer. It is a low enough load of Carbs to be eaten at any time of day and its macronutrient ratio is as good as your going to find.
Turkey (breast) is as lean of a cut of meat as you’re going to find and while if this was a Protein only tournament it would certainly pose a threat to win the entire thing. In comparison to Broccoli however, it can’t compete with the micronutrients or the macronutrient diversity. It also contains tryptophan, which isn’t harmful by any means but it will make you feel tired.
Unfortunately I have to say goodbye to Turkey as Broccoli is just to strong of a food with its macro’s/micro’s and its ability to help fight cancer.
Verdict: (2) Broccoli defeats (4) Turkey
