(1) Chicken Breast vs (7) Zucchini
Apr 18, 2016
Tale of the Tape
Chicken Breast (3 oz): 3g Fat, 0g Carbs, 26g Protein
Zucchini (1 Cup): 0g Fat, 4g Carbs, 1g Protein
Looking at these two you can make an argument for either in terms of macronutrients; Chicken Breast is Extremely high in Protein and Zucchini is an amazing vegetable but since this tournament is all about splitting hairs at this point, I’m going with Chicken Breast in this category solely because the Protein in the Chicken Breast is complete, whereas, with the Zucchini you would still need to find the other amino acids.
When it comes to micronutrients, Zucchini offers more of a variety with 18 vitamins and minerals; however, it doesn’t really offer a GREAT source of any ONE of them. Chicken Breast, as noted before, is an awesome source of Potassium but it also has 2 times the amount of Phantothenic acid, 7 times the amount of vitamin B-6, and 12 times the amount of Phosphorus.
Zucchini is also very low on the glycemic index; however, because Chicken Breast holds NO Carbs, it in essence has no glycemic value.
Chicken Breast was able to just barely edge its way past Zucchini in just about every category and with that we will see it in Grand Finals taking on Broccoli.
Verdict: (1) Chicken Breast defeats (7) Zucchini
Next Match Up: (1) Chicken Breast vs (2) Broccoli
