Our Tips and Tricks for a Safe Halloween:
From Paw Patrol to Cinderella and Batman, choosing a Halloween costume wisely is important for Halloween safety. Below are a few tips and tricks!
Perfect Fit – As you know Maryland weather is a rollercoaster ride of climates, be sure to choose a costume for all types of weather. Add extra layers underneath the costume if needed!
Reflection – As it gets darker earlier now, it is important to try to choose a costume with bright colors. There is always the option of attaching reflective tape to his or her treat bag to help!
Join the fun and set some rules – For younger kids a parent or guardian should accompany them while trick-or-treating. Encourage older kids to trick-or-treat in a group. Discuss a plan and route, don’t forget to set curfew! Remind them to stay in group, walk on the sidewalks, and ONLY approach clearly lit houses.
Examined the Candy – Check and double check the candy before indulging into it! Discard anything that is not sealed or looks questionable. Reach labels carefully to look out for any food allergies.
DON’T FORGET! – If you are driving on Halloween, watch out for children in the roads walking/running between houses. Using extra caution can help ensure Halloween safety for all parties!
