a note from your Fairfax owner,
Meredith Fenton Minix
My fitness journey began in college when I discovered how much exercise and wellness supported my mental health. At first, I was self-taught, but I quickly built on that foundation through education, certifications, and management experience. I started as a traveling personal trainer, which soon led to teaching group exercise courses at the college level. Before long, I was leading classes in gyms across the DC metro area. By 1998, I knew personal training was more than just a job—it was my career and my calling. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Shepherd University in WV, which gave me both the science and the practical tools to support people in reaching their goals. In 2009, I joined the Fitness Together team as Director of Training and Co-owner of the Tysons studio. Two years later, I purchased FT Fairfax, and by 2016 I had stepped fully into the role of sole owner and manager. What drives me every day is showing people how fitness and nutrition can be woven into real life. As a mom of three and a business owner, I understand the challenges of balancing family, work, and self-care. That’s why I’m passionate about helping my clients create realistic routines that not only fit into their busy lives but also help them thrive.
