Jerky is very high in protein, containing an impressive 9 grams per ounce (28 grams). Trail Mix is another good source of protein. You get about 8 grams in a 2oz serving. You can add more protein by adding almonds or pistachios to the mix. Greek yogurt is an ideal healthy and high-protein snack, with 20 grams of protein per one-cup serving (224 grams). It has been shown to be more filling than yogurts with lower protein contents. Tuna is loaded with protein and makes a very healthy and convenient snack. One cup contains an impressive 39 grams of protein.

Hummus with veggies is one of my go to snacks to eat. A ⅓ cup of hummus contains 6.5 grams of protein and very easy to take on the road. A protein bar is also high in protein with some bars containing anywhere from 15-30 g of protein. While these bars are high in protein make sure you read the ingredients because some can also be very high in sugar. If you want to have something homemade you can do an overnight oatmeal. You fill a jar with ½ cup of oatmeal and ½ cup of your choice of milk and you add chia seeds and berries and even peanut butter to add more protein, let this sit overnight and in the morning you have a portable breakfast.

Cottage cheese is one of my favorite protein packed snacks. With 25 grams of protein per cup it is a great snack for clients who are constantly on the go. Quinoa is another great option because it's something that you can mix with other protein enriched foods like Broccoli. Shrimp is another great protein filled food that is easy to eat on the go. With 90% of its calorie content coming from protein its packed with fuel to help you recover.
