I know it's been awhile since I last wrote. We have seen 106 degree heat indexes as of August 1 here in lovely Massachusetts. I guess there are pros and cons to the summer - the pro being the sun, the con being the damn heat.
In a time like this - cardio machines almost seem like heaven. Who would have ever thought a treadmill and/or elliptical could bring a smile to one's face?
But that is not why I'm writing. Fortunately, a 106 degree heat index is quite rare. Typically, we are used to seeing 75-85 degree heat with not too many clouds in the sky which guides me into what this blog is really about...
Why not get your aerobic workouts in while doing something FUN!? Given this wonderful weather - why not play golf, tennis, bike ride, or even jog with your dog by your side? All of these activities, and so many more, get your heart rate up and challenge you aerobically. At a time like this - who needs treadmills and ellipticals and stationary bikes? Why not strap on your roller blades, or grab your Ipod and running shoes, tennis racket, wiffle ball bat, whatever it may be and get outside! I gaurantee you will excersice forever and not even kn ow the time went by!
So get out there are prove me right!
