Sticking to your goals for 2025

Dec 30, 2024

Sticking to your new year's goals can be challenging. You probably know someone who's made goals for themselves on many a new year and always comes up short on them. It can be daunting to set a goal for yourself and see it through, but with the right skills and discipline, achieving your goals can be a breeze!

One way you can go about succeeding with your new year's resolutions is to actually set specific achievable goals. For example, don't have a goal of "losing weight". Make it more specific, such as "lose 10lbs." That way you have something you can get to, as opposed to just generally losing weight. Also, you can break up your goals too. Let's say your goal is to lose weight and your target weight is 10lbs. If that's a stressful achievement, have the mindset of losing 5 pounds in 3 months, then the next 5 pounds after that. That way, you've hit your goal of 10 pounds!

You can also set healthy habits that will help facilitate your goal. For example, if you have a healthy diet resolution, start small. Slowly eliminate things that you know are bad for you over time, and you'll eventually be in a better position for success. Eliminating all that's bad for you off the bat is usually a recipe for falling back into old habits. On the contrary, it's always a good idea to be kind to yourself. We're all human, and we deserve a little wiggle room when it comes to achieving things.

In closing, one of the more important aspects of achieving goals is to stay positive! Focus on progress, not perfection. It's easy to get discouraged if things aren't going as planned, but every step counts!
