FT Clients Refuse to Lose
Posted By: Stacy Rhea on 07/24/2011
L to R: Emily, Lisa, Mary Ann, Stacy, Teri, Pam.
The idea of trying something new, like running 3.1 miles, in the heat does not invoke fear or intimidation for five of FT’s clients. Breaking a swear during their cross-fit style training sessions, three times a week is just part of what makes these women so fearless.
Stepping outside of the FT studio, July 23 to participate in their first 5K, Refuse to Lose, Mary Ann, Pam, Lisa, Teri and Emily proved just how tough they are.
Mary Ann (Hudson client)
With temperatures in the high 80s, by 9 a.m., the women tackled the 3.1-mile run with smiles on their faces. Four of the five women ran their first 5K.
One gal, Lisa, has never run more than 2 miles, and that’s on the treadmill.
“My pace on the treadmill is usually 15-minutes miles,” Lisa, said, “but today I was able to maintain 13-minutes miles.”

Pam and Teri finished the 5K with fuel still in the tank. Mary Ann finished the race two minutes faster than she anticipated. Crossing the finish line was the goal when the gals started. The new goal: beat their times at the next 5K.
Emily, a 19-year from Hudson used the 5K as a warm-up for her sprint triathlon on Sunday - two races in one weekend. Not only did Emily kick it during the 5K, she also sprinted her way through the tri like a young pro. First out of the water for the 39 and under age group. Way to go Em!
