Cryolipolysis: Icy Cold Procedure Freezes Away Fat

Posted By: Stacy Rhea on 05/18/2011

What will they think of next? The latest gimmick to hit the weight loss market: Cryolipolysis.

It's is being touted as the alternative to liposuction. This non-invasive procedure will destroy fat cells by freezing them, and the best part, you can go home, the same day and resume your daily activities.

Sure, you will have some bruising and soreness, but hey, that will only last a few weeks. The affects of freezing the fat are said to be instant, with additional affects taking place over the next few months.

Forget about health benefits, this procedure is for the fit, yes, I said the fit. According to Dr. Mathew Avram, director of Massachusetts General Hospital's dermatology laser and cosmetic center, “there are certain areas that don't respond well to exercise.”  Really, since when Dr. Avram?

No mention of diet ... sounds fishy to me.

If you can’t afford to drop a few dimes on a gym or personal trainer, you will surely have the spare change to spend on Cryolipolysis, it’s only $750 to $1,500 per hour, I think. Conflicting news reports suggest per hour or per body part. Either way, it’s not  a small chunk of change.

What about long-term effects?
Does this procedure last or will the fat come back?
Is it FDA approved? I found conflicting reports on this too.

If you want to lose weight, increase energy, live a longer, healthier life, decrease your chances of heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis, cancer, and so on, then you must engage in what will produce long-lasting results: proper nutrition and exercise.

Don’t know where to begin, give Fitness Together a call.
Our no gimmick, just results program is cheaper and is approved by the FDA.
