Emily joined Fitness Together in April 2020 after finishing her Masters in Kinesiology from Boise State University. Before moving to Boise, she lived in Seattle for seven years where she studied Psychology at Seattle University, then began a career as a Yoga teacher and fitness instructor. Emily initially wanted to pursue a career in Counseling, but realized that movement was an alternative that offered similar benefit, and was able to reach more people at a given time. She attended her first Yoga teacher training in 2013 through YogaFit, which led to many more trainings and certifications the following years in additional fitness formats. Extensive yoga practice and a lack of strength training left her with chronic low-back issues which has simultaneously shaped her outlook on fitness and drives her training style to accommodate the needs of the body each day. She began personal training in 2016 and enjoys working with clients from all walks of life. Emily competed in her first sprint triathlon in 2019, two 10K races, but most of all enjoys hiking and walking her golden retrievers (Lilly and Chief) with her partner Kyle. Her certifications include: CPR/AED and First Aid, Certified Personal Trainer, IKFF Certified Kettlebell Teacher Level 1, AFAA Primary Group Exercise Certification, Peak Pilates Mat-Based Pilates, Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200), and YogaFit Level 1.
