Smoking and exercise

Michael Zook

This article talks about the negative effects of being a frequent smoker while participating in an exercise program. This article recommends that if you are a smoker and are looking to participate in exercise, or improve your performance in exercise to stop smoking. Injury and healing time is higher and longer for smokers then non smokers, oxygen capacity can improve when you stop smoking as well as being able to sleep better. Smoking also causes inflammation in other parts of your body besides your lungs. smokers have shown inflammation of bursitis and RA more frequently than non smokers.
