With a little research, you will find that there are countless healthy snack options out there. It’s definitely something to be excited about. Let’s look at a few below.
Snacks for Weight Loss
You can’t go wrong with vegetables for weight loss. A healthy snack might consist of carrot and celery sticks, with a serving of hummus. You’re filling up on veggies, but still getting some protein. Hummus comes in all shapes and sizes these days. Try the garlic hummus, or red pepper if you like it spicy. You can’t go wrong with classic mediterranean. Pay close attention to serving sizes when making snacks.
Try a low fat yogurt with blueberries for a sweeter note. A low fat Greek yogurt will incorporate protein if needed. Vanilla yogurt will add a bit of sweetness and flavor. Mix a serving size of yogurt with ¾ cup of blueberries.
Almonds are a great snack for weight loss. If nuts alone aren’t your favorite, try mixing up a quick trail mix with dried cranberries and coconut flakes. Add in a few other nuts to mix things up a bit. Try adding walnuts.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away... slice it and add some peanut butter for a delicious treat. Keep the skin on the apple, since that’s where the fiber is found. Fiber is always good for weight loss.
Smoothies can be great for weight loss Johns Creek, and excellent for incorporating fruits and veggies. Try a raspberry carrot juice spinach smoothie--not only does it taste great, but the raspberries are packed with fiber--8 grams in just one cup!
A fiber or energy bar is perfect for on-the-go, or if you forgot to plan ahead. While these bars are generally meant as a meal replacement, they can make an excellent weight loss snack when necessary. Look for one that is lower in carbohydrates, and higher in fiber. Cheese and crackers are every bit as delicious today as they were when you were a kid. Look for a serving size of whole grain crackers, and pair with string cheese, or portioned cheese slices.
At the end of the day, when the urge to munch hits, go for popcorn. Pop your own healthy stuff, with no greasy butter. Be creative with spices and make your popcorn taste the way you like it.
