Eating a healthy breakfast jump-starts your metabolism, regulates your blood sugar levels and gives you energy to carry you through lunch time. Fiber-rich oatmeal is a great option because it is filling, opt for plain oatmeal since the flavored brands can be full of sugar. Remember the pair the oatmeal with some source of lean protein, a good example would be egg whites. (Don't make the excuse that it takes too long to cook in the morning, cook them the night before; remember a big part of staying on a diet is planning ahead.)
