Client of the Month - Victoria B.

May 2, 2022

Congratulations to Victoria B. being our next client of the month! Victoria has been a client at Fitness Together since May 2021, and has reached so many goals over her time as a client. Check out her story below:

Q: How long have you been with Fitness Together, and how often are you working out both inside and outside of the studio?

I've been with FT for almost a year now. Going to the studio is my most consistent approach to working out. I know, no matter what, I'll have two days a week where I'll work hard. Outside of the studio I do yoga (shoutout to Yoga With Adriene on Youtube, super great for the do-it-at-home types) and enjoy light cardio (a.k.a walks) but both of these activities are far more sporadic than studio work. Sometimes you just need that outside push. I certainly do.

Q: What are some of the results you've seen so far?
When I started training my goal was twofold: get moving again and regain some upper body strength after a wrist injury + surgery. Well, let's be honest, there wasn't a ton of upper body strength there before either. It's this strength goal where I've seen a lot of improvement. I don't totally fear pushups anymore, for one. Still can't open some jars, but I think that's more of a jar problem than a me problem at this point.

Q: What can you attribute mostly to your success so far? What hurdles did you have to get over in order to succeed?

I think, in fitness, consistency is key. Whether that's being consistent with showing up each week to sticking to a good routine for sleeping and eating, nothing beats just putting in the hours. Sounds easy, right? Well, scratch that. It sounds simple but it's not always easy...especially because we all have lives outside the studio. So just giving myself permission to put fitness up a few notches on the priority list helps a lot. I still have days when my strength isn't there and the old injuries act up, but in that case (as the guys at FT remind me) as long as I still show up, I just have to give what I can on that day.

Q: What are some of your goals with FT moving forward?

I've been trying a bit of barbell work, which is intimidating but fun. I'd like to keep that going. Any and all of the HITT moves that we all love to hate (burpees anyone?) should keep featuring in my workouts too. I've also moved and switched from the Silver Spring to Gaithersburg studio. I'm going to miss everyone at the old spot for sure, but I'm glad there's a FT near my new home as well.

Q: Anything else you would like to share with others looking to hit their goals?

Let the team know what else you like to do, and they'll incorporate it into your workout. I mentioned I used to do a lot of Taekwondo, so Marques and Rich worked in some kicking exercises for me. I said I liked yoga? Enter downward dog toe-touches. The team wants you to succeed, so sharing what keeps you moving only helps!
