Client of the Month - January: Linda

Linda has been nominated as our client of the month for January! You've come a long way, Linda and you're so much stronger! Keep up the excellent work, we're all very proud of you!

Q: How long have you been with Fitness Together, and how often are you working out both inside and outside of the studio?

I first began coming to Fitness Together in May 2019. I am working out three times a week in studio. I am trying to do cardio on my own at least 1-2 times a week.

Q: What are the results you've seen so far?

My fiancé, friends, and family have all noticed how much stronger I am. It's made a big difference in day to day life, like easily carrying groceries or taking heavy trays out of the oven. I am also in much better shape and can run to catch a bus or even up a flight of stairs without getting out of breath.

Q: What can you attribute mostly to your success so far? What hurdles did you have to get over in order to succeed?

Prior to Fitness Together, I never spent a lot of time at the gym. I always thought of myself as unathletic and uncoordinated. My biggest hurdle has been overcoming that self-perception and learning what my body is capable of.

Personal training is invaluable. Unlike with group classes I've tried in the past but not stuck with for very long, I don't have to worry about comparing myself to anyone else. My only comparison basis is to my own past performance. Every fitness assessment I've been able to do more sit-ups and lift more weight than I could a few months earlier, which is extremely satisfying.

Q: What are some of your goals with FT moving forward?

I think I'm very close to being able to do a full pushup from the ground, so that's my main short-term goal.

Some broader goals are:

1. Be more consistent about doing cardio both after some of my sessions and outside of the studio.

2. Learn to do some basic strength training on my own.

3. Continue to get stronger and healthier!
