Client of the Month - Claudia Calderon
May 23, 2019
We're all so proud of Claudia's progress so far and we congratulate her on being our Client of the Month! Claudia, you've always remained consistent with your program, and it shows. Thank your hard work, your kind words and for taking the time to share your experiences with others who are looking to achieve their wellness goals!
Q: How long have you been with Fitness Together, and how often are you working out both inside and outside of the studio?
I signed-up earlier this year in January and have been coming into the studio three times a week. Outside of the studio, I do my steady-state cardio (walk on the treadmill) immediately after an FT session.
Q: What are the results you've seen so far?
I have lost 36 lbs. since my first fitness assessment on January 18! It has been a huge challenge, but I am stronger and have more energy than ever before. I absolutely love fitting into old clothes that I have not worn in years. I also really appreciate all the words of encouragement that I have received thus far from family, friends, co-workers, and of course, FT staff!
Q: What can you attribute mostly to your success so far? What hurdles did you have to get over in order to succeed?
I needed some measure of accountability, which Fitness Together definitely offers, alongside a change to my diet (doing keto). Prior to joining FT, it was easy for me to do the same exercise (elliptical) over the course of a couple of weeks, but always found an excuse to stop, such as lack of time or energy. Most of the hurdles that I faced were psychological. FT trainers are absolutely amazing and push you beyond what you think you are capable of achieving. I tend to be quite easily intimidated by a new exercise (including those with heavy weights), but after attempting to do the exercise, I find that it is usually easier than what I originally thought. I really appreciate that my amazing trainers (Chris, Justin, and Jacob) are patient, understanding, supportive, knowledgeable, and listen to me complain about the exercises and life in general!
Q: What are some of your goals with FT moving forward?
While I still want to continue to lose weight, I also want to become physically stronger and engage in recreational activities during my weekends. I want to make the time to do my recommended HIIT/cardio training outside of the studio. I also travel a lot for work and want to be accountable in the exercises that I do while I travel. If you do travel, FT can develop a workout plan (which can be tailored to no gym access). I am looking forward to the challenge of pushing myself to be accountable while I travel for my upcoming lengthy trip of almost two months!
Q: Is there anything else you would like to share with others looking to hit their goals?
It may seem intimidating to take the first step to inquire about the cost or sign-up for FT, but you should put your physical health first by investing in yourself. You absolutely will not regret it! When I was making the decision to sign-up for FT, I really appreciated that FT staff does not engage in traditional pushy sales tactics. They want to make sure that FT is a good fit for you. They also encourage you to try all the trainers to see who you prefer to workout with. I would also recommend you do so to find the trainers that are a best fit for you personally. Good luck to you and enjoy the journey!
