Sweating for the Wedding

Springtime is here and as the saying goes, “love is in the air”, which can only mean one thing. It’s wedding season people! With the warm weather surge and a wedding on the horizon, many women may feel the need to look their best. However, the perfect dress can only be perfect if you feel confident and comfortable in your own skin. Weight-loss is desired by most new brides, but some may just prefer general muscle toning. Whatever your goal is, it’s important to know that it should be obtained in the right and healthy way. This means that exercise and nutrition should be a priority from the minute you start planning your big day. Crash diets are common among those only a few months away from their set date. The problem is that not only are they dangerous but most people relapse and gain most of their weight back, if not more. To avoid this disappointment, there are three things to focus on: strength training, proper nutrition, and cardio. That may sound obvious, but it’s easier to KNOW something than to actually do it.

Step one should be: Create a timeline and figure out how long you have to reach your goals. Step two: Figure out which areas of your health need improvement.

Step three: Make an action plan on how to improve those areas whether it be addressing them yourself or consulting a professional.

If you need some motivation, then create a vision board that has a list of your fitness goals with a picture of your dream dress next to them. Getting your fiance’ involved is also very helpful as you both can keep each other accountable and begin shaping a happy and healthy life together. Studies have shown that people involving a loved one are 57% more likely to reach their goals! So if you’re planning on committing to your partner for the rest of your life, then why not give your health the same courtesy?
