Lead Trainer

Steve has a Master of Science in Physical Education from Indiana University. He is a Certified Exercise Physiologist from the American College of Sports Medicine as well as a Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. He also holds coaching certifications from US Lacrosse Association and Washington State Soccer Association. He has over twenty years experience in the health and fitness industry.  Steve has been a FT team member since 2014.

I started learning about movement and the body when I was only a year old watching my parents do martial arts together. I currently have a 4th Degree black belt in Hapkido with over 10 years of teaching experience in Hapkido, Taekwondo, yoga, and gymnastics.

 

Rachel has a BA in Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology from Willamette University. Rachel then got her personal training certification from The American College of Sports Medicine.

 

Through her martial arts experience and formal education, she views personal training as more than just getting a good workout in. It is about self-care and working together to unlock the best version of yourself. Rachel chose personal training because she love teaching people about movement and their bodies and watching people find confidence and joy through exercise.

Rachel has  been a FT team member since 2017.

Brian

Brian's journey into the health and wellness field began in 2012 when he decided to make a career change and pursue his passion for health and fitness. Having experienced his own weight loss journey of losing over 30 pounds, Brian understands the hurdles that one can be faced with when making the necessary lifestyle improvements, and knows what it takes to accomplish them. Using his coaching skills, Brian finds clever and helpful ways to motivate individuals to reach their potential and create healthy sustained lifestyle changes while having fun along the way.

Brian is a certified Personal Trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine. He also holds Personal Training Certification and a Certification of Wellness Coaching from the College of Lake County. Brian is a 1st degree Black Belt in Taekwondo and has 4 years experience as a Taekwondo instructor along with a variety of other martial arts.

Brian has been a trainer with Fitness Together since 2018.

Since I was young exercise has always been a part of my life. I played baseball, football, and wrestling in middle school and throughout high school. I also studied martial arts for many years.

When I went to college I did not know what I wanted to do and stumbled upon kinesiology. I loved it. I joined the kinesiology club at CSU Monterey Bay and helped start the power lifting/ strongman club there. My senior year was spent shadowing the Physical Therapists at a Physical Therapy Clinic.  After college I went to work as a personal trainer and became an assistant fitness manager. 

I graduated with honors from CSUMB with a BS in Kinesiology with an emphasis in exercise science and bio-mechanics.  I am certified through the NSCA and have a CSCS. 

 

John has been a trainer with Fitness Together since 2018.
