While not physically gifted, I ended up as D1 swimmer based on having good coaches and consistent training. I realized I made a mistake shortly after graduating with a business degree, so I went back and got a Masters degree in an area I enjoyed. I’ve coached multiple sports, participated in many different events-some at a high level and some not so high (but those were the most fun). I’ve always enjoyed helping people reach their goals.     I have always enjoyed training, finding it to be an excellent outlet for de-stressing and a confidence builder with each strength gain. However, it wasn't until after I graduated with my Psychology degree that I discovered my passion for Personal Training. I realized I could help others live higher quality lives by helping them move their bodies and I've been hooked ever since. My real passion in the training industry is helping others discover their own strength and help them to realize empowering that strength can be.

    My absolute favorite way to spend my free time is out on my Kayak, whether that means adventuring with my girl friends or just finding a calm spot to float and read mystery novels it's always top of my weekend priorities. Aside from that I really enjoy just getting outdoors and exploring what Washington has to offer. When the rain's locked me up for the Winter my inner Martha Stewart is released and I spend most of my free time crafting and cooking up some tasty treats.

    I attended Washington State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. With coaching experience ranging from beginners to advanced athletes, I have a passion for instructing proper human movements leading to pain free movement. I enjoy using all the tools at my disposal including barbells, Kettle Bells and bodyweight movements to increase the strength and longevity of the body. In my own training I am currently focusing on distance running. I am also passionate about learning and coaching how to run further and more efficiently. I also have experience training clients during pregnancy (pre and post-partum).

    In my free time I like to golf. Golf is my biggest hobby. If I am not golfing in my free time I will most likely be camping or hiking. To relax I would most likely be watching TV (probably SNL) or playing video games.

    I was introduced to resistance training the same way most young males are–a big brother figure said I had to go to the gym with him one day. What was a fun hobby throughout college, eventually turned into a practice of self-care and personal development. After finishing my Master's degree, I needed a new academic interest to satisfy my brain's demand for constant learning. Since I had been training long enough that progress was becoming increasingly difficult, I dove headfirst into the world of exercise science to continue improving my own fitness. After transitioning out of my role in pastoral ministry, several close friends suggested that I consider becoming a Personal Trainer. So, I went on to earn my Personal Training Certification through the ACSM and have been training others full-time ever since. Personal Training has given me the incredible opportunity to walk with people in their journey toward becoming their most flourishing self. Available for Virtual Training only

    I'm not exactly sure what counts as "free time" in my life. Outside of Personal Training, I'm also an adjunct professor of Communications at Northwest University and play drums for my friend Isaac Peabody. Lifting is probably the hobby I spend most of my time on, alongside reading anything I can get my hands on. When my wife and I get to hang out with friends, it's usually playing a board game or Dungeons & Dragons. And trust me, I can't figure myself out either.

    When I’m not working I’m usually still at the gym! I love lifting, swimming, dancing, hiking, badminton and paddle boarding in the summer. Outside of physical activity I enjoy trying new restaurants and going shopping. I also love to travel! In August 2019, I went backpacking in Thailand and Singapore for three weeks. Hopefully in 2021 I can plan my next vacation spot to Indonesia and The Philippines.
