1. What has been your biggest success since working out at Fitness Together?

I have greatly benefited on many levels--increased physical strength, toning, weight loss and a significant shift in mindset. If I had to choose just one, I would have to say a shift in mindset. Once your head is in the right place, then all other areas begin to fall in place.

For the first time in my life I know that I can accomplish what I want in gaining strength and creating a healthier body. There is no finish line in this journey to becoming healthier, and Fitness Together has helped me to realize that. Life happens, and it is all about putting into place the practices and discipline to take one day at a time on this journey. I am 20 pounds lighter, and while I have a ways to go with my weight loss, I know that with their guidance and my discipline I will achieve my weight loss and fitness goals.

2. What lifestyle changes have you made outside of your workouts to help you in your success?

Healthier eating and not beating myself up as much when I get off track. Learning more about reducing stress and striving for more and better quality of sleep, all of which can wreak havoc on your body if not controlled.

Currently at FT, I do strength training on Mondays and Fridays and do cardio on Wednesdays. I have incorporated walking into my weekly routine when I can and have learned that becoming healthier and more fit is not always about every workout having to be all out hardcore. In fact, that can sometimes be counterproductive.

3. What has been your favorite aspect about working out at FT?

The trainers are very knowledgeable and fantastic, and the workouts are terrific--the workouts are the perfect balance of variety, challenging and age appropriate. I love that no matter what is going on in my life, whether that be the tired factor of an ache or pain here or there, the trainers always have a modification for an exercise that will work for me during that time. They help me perform at my best level each time--keeping in mind that my best can change from one day to the next.

4. What advice would you give to someone with the same goals as you for sticking to a program?

Join Fitness Together, period. The external accountability they create is not just for exercise by for nutrition and counseling as well. For one fee you get the entire package: a personal trainer, the nutritional advice, and the psychological support at the same time!

5. Who would you want to receive the same benefits as you?

Anyone and everyone embarking on living a healthier lifestyle. Life is about choices, and while I originally thought that I did not have it in my budget to have a trainer, I chose to make Fitness Together my number one priority and am making it happen.
