How To Be Younger Next Year

Did you know that you can eliminate 70% of the normal issues that come with aging by simply changing your lifestyle?

I was astounded by that percentage when I recently read a book recommended by a client – “Younger Next Year” by Chris Crowley & Henry (Harry) S. Lodge, MD. – that explains the science behind aging and gives a roadmap to living a healthier and functionally younger life as you age.

The book explains how after the age of 55, the majority of people in the U.S. decline a little every year into their late eighties, largely due to our western patterns of inactivity and poor nutrition. Research has shown that by changing your lifestyle, you can not only eliminate 70% of the normal problems that come with this aging decline (balance issues, joint issues, and weakness), but also eliminate 50% of illness and injury in the last third of your life!

So how do you change your lifestyle? By following Harry’s 7 Rules.

While much of the advice is common sense, the book explains how and why following these rules and making the lifestyle changes suggested will make a great impact on your life.

So what are Harry’s rules for living younger?

  1. Exercise 6 days a week for the rest of your life!
  2. Do serious aerobic exercise 4 days a week for the rest of your life.
  3. Do serious strength training, with weights, 2 days a week for the rest of your life.
  4. Spend less than you make.
  5. Quit eating crap.
  6. Care. (Have a cause that you believe in.)
  7. Connect and Commit to others.
