We’ve all heard about some wonderful, fun, or unusual activities that people have put on their bucket lists. But is there anything fitness related on yours? If not, there should be!
Your fitness bucket list can be as challenging and fun as you want. Here are some great ideas to help you start yours:
- Do 25 regular pushups, or really challenge yourself with a set of one-arm pushups
- Complete a marathon (or, a half-marathon or a 5K)
- Compete in a triathlon
- Hike the Appalachian trail
- Try a yoga class
- Learn to snorkel or scuba dive
- Learn how to snowboard or ski
The activities that make your list should be fun, should challenge you, and should speak to your heart. This list isn’t about what you should do, it’s about what you want to do.
And don’t forget, improving your health and fitness might enable you to complete some of those other items on your bucket list. You might actually travel to that exotic destination, but spending hours walking around and sightseeing is less enjoyable when you are out of shape. And being out of breath after the first salsa dance is going to severely dampen your enthusiasm for dancing the night away!
So after you’re done making your list, what is the next thing you should do? Pick one to work on and share it with your trainer! Your personal trainer can customize your workout to assist you in achieving your goal, and will be right there with you to celebrate when you do.
And if you aren’t quite ready to be so audacious with your goals, just start small and work up to it by setting good fitness goals.
