(4) Take some time to relax every day.

Before you enjoy your holiday snacks, you have to buy them or make them – which can be a stressful process. Stress can be a major trigger for overeating, especially “comfort foods” that contain excess fat and sugar. Remember to relax your body and mind this holiday season. Try working in some mindful meditation or light stretching.

(5) Don’t try to go cold turkey.

Remember that over-eating is just that: over-eating. You can still eat your favorite holiday foods as long as you don’t go overboard. When you feel a craving coming on, remind yourself that it ing on, remind yourself that it’s okay to have Grandma’s sugar cookies. Just keep your portions in check to avoid blood sugar spikes.
