4 Fitness Tricks: Treat Yourself to a Healthy Halloween
Oct 29, 2021
It’s Halloween – everyone is entitled to one good treat (or two). Just be cognizant of the snacks you choose (and how many) and be sure to get back to your regularly scheduled workout on Nov. 1.
Here are four additional fitness tricks that will ensure a safe, healthy, and happy Halloween.
- Don’t be scared to have a bit (or bite) of fun: One cheat, er – treat – won’t slay a year’s worth of workouts. Simply plan ahead. Determine what amount of candy and/or treats is within the realm of good taste and stick to it. Then be sure to balance it all with a nutritious meal and a few more rounds on the elliptical. If you’re stuck with leftover candy after the trick or treaters have dispersed, you don’t have to coexist with the temptation. You can donate to a shelter or food drive.
- Remember – the real treat is a balanced diet and a healthier lifestyle: Protein, fiber, fruits, veggies, and plenty of water. Keep these tenets in mind and pair them with routine exercise at the personal fitness studio – and you’ll reach your desired “fun size” in no time.
- Schedule your workout before the ghouls come out. Depending on where you live, pandemic rules may hamper Halloween’s trick or treating activities yet again this year in certain neighborhoods. Still, 2021 celebrations seem to be moving forward in large part. Make sure you have time to slip into your costume and show off all of the progress you made during your workout sessions at the fitness studio. Schedule your weekly session for the morning or early afternoon on Oct. 31.
- Make the trick or treating rounds yourself. Whether you take the kids door to door or wait until after the sugar rush has slowed and take a walk around the neighborhood to enjoy the holiday decorations, getting out and about can help you tally steps and burn calories.
