After I entered my 40's, I noticed the pounds creeping up on me. Even more important though, I had never felt in really good shape. I joined Fitness Together in May 2006, and I’ve never looked back! When I first started, I could not do a push-up, and I was resigned to settling into middle age with a “muffin top” around my stomach – since then, I have gained strength and lost inches. I feel much better about the way I look, but what I hadn’t realized was how much confidence I would gain! For the first time in many years, I got back on a bike, and ended up taking a cycling trip in Canada last summer. I enjoyed it so much that I’m planning another cycling and hiking vacation this summer.
All the trainers at Fitness Together have worked with me on strength, cardio, and endurance, as well as balance. In the past, when I had occasionally tried out a trainer at a gym, I had always felt intimidated. What I love about the Fitness Together trainers is that they are challenging, but very attuned to your level, and flexible so that they can address your priorities. They really focus on each client individually and constantly adjust your program so that it is always challenging and never boring! They are knowledgeable and serious about what they do, but they are also a lot of fun, and they know how to motivate.
I want to thank Fitness Together in Barrington for making a huge difference in the way I think about my abilities. If Matt has his way, I may even be training for a half-marathon in the not too distant future!
