Non-Food Rewards for Achieving Your Goals

When was the last time you did something to reward yourself? If you can’t remember, then it may be time to change that. It is very beneficial to set short-term goals. Once you achieve them, give yourself a pat on the back with something special in order to keep up the momentum.
We often associate rewards with food, but there are even better ways to show appreciation to your body, mind and soul. Here are a few of our favorite ways to treat yourself …
Upgrade your workout wardrobe.
Do you know how good it feels to hit the studio in a brand new, comfortable and functional workout outfit? Quite good! If you’re still working out in old cotton t-shirts and baggy sweatpants, which weigh you down, it may be time to reward yourself with some new athletic clothing that supports your workouts. We recommend wicking dri-fit tops, which keep your body cool as you sweat, supportive sports bras for women, athletic socks and cross-training sneakers.
Book a spa day or a massage.
Massages are not only a great way to relieve stress, but they are also helpful for your health and wellness. Massages can improve circulation and blood flow, reduce anxiety and soothe tense muscles as well. If you can get away for a full spa day with a massage, facial, manicure and pedicure, that’s amazing. We also recommend considering regular massage therapy as part of your wellness routine, to support your efforts in the gym and keep your body in top form.
Plan your next vacation for pleasure.
Traveling for pleasure is good for the soul. And if most of your trips are centered around work, it could be beneficial to find the right time to go somewhere by yourself or with friends or family just for fun. As a reward for working hard, devote a morning or afternoon to dreaming up your ideal trip, then researching, planning and booking it for the near future. It will give you something exciting to look forward to.
Take a personal day.
Sometimes one of the best ways to reward yourself, is to give yourself some space. If you operate on an incredibly busy schedule day in and day out and have been meeting your goals left and right, it may be time for a full day off of all commitments. Clear your work and social calendar, and plan for a day of reading, relaxing, napping, watching TV, walking in nature or doing whatever it is that you want to do.

• Get a new gym bag.
• Book a haircut or blowout at a fancy salon, or get a professional shave from a barber.
• Sign up for a curated box of new clothing from Stitch Fix or Trunk Club or another virtual personal styling service.
• Take your car to get detailed both inside and out.
• Head to your favorite park, and read for pleasure in the fresh air.
Whatever you do, don’t forget that hard work and commitment to your health and wellness goals is very important, but so is giving yourself a high-five for all that you do.
