5 Tips to Adjust Your Workout Around Your Kids’ Schedules
Aug 25, 2015
Now that it’s time to start thinking about your kids going back to school, life is going to get a big hectic, and your kids' schedules will takeover your schedule. One of the first items to be dropped off the schedule may be your workouts. Before you start replacing workouts with PTO meetings, check out these tips to help you get a workout in, even with your busy family plans.
Break Down Your Workout
With a loaded schedule, it’s tough to find time for a long workout. Try to determine critical focus areas that you want to concentrate on and make your workouts shorter. You can complete a full-body workout in just 30 minutes. Create your schedule with these shorter workouts and it won’t be so intimidating. After all, who can't make time for 30 minutes?
We’re all so tied to our calendars and schedules. Mark your workout on your calendar and set a reminder. Whether it is a quick run in the morning or a personal training session at a gym, make sure that you make working out a priority by scheduling it.
Set Real Goals
In a hectic schedule, it's easy to get overwhelmed by goals. When it comes to your fitness goals, set small, reasonable goals so that you remain positive and do not become overwhelmed. Reward yourself when you meet your goals; this will help keep you motivated.
Make it a Priority
If you make it a priority, you’ll get it done. Don’t let your hectic schedule bounce your workout time.
Don’t get down on yourself, even if you do happen to miss a workout. Understand that you’re busy, it’s okay to miss one here and there. If you do not reach your goal, stay positive. If you have a positive attitude, you’ll continue to reach your workout goals.
