I hadn't worked out in over 9 years. Now that I am close to turning 65 my thought was if not now, when? I have been starting to do some new things and my shape sometimes limits what and how long I can do things, kind of a downer.
A friend recommended Fitness Together. First of all I think Billy and Nick are terrific. I liked their cost-free initial assessment to set a baseline of where I was (pretty low baseline in my opinion :). I told them about my goals and they listened. I signed up for their 12 session package (I go twice a week) in February. They are also quite flexible with times to work out.
Assessment of my workouts - Each time they push a little more than the last time which is definitely something I want . The respect my limits and understand that I am just starting. If I try an exercise that doesn't feel right it's ok, understanding I know my body best. We just switch to another exercise that works the same part of the body. I like that each workout is a little different. Each week we focus on form which in my mind helps me not hurt myself.
There are many exercises that can work different parts of the body and Billy and Nick have a little different but complementary styles, I love this place and am now signing up for their 24 session package. I urge trying it especially for those who have been exercise challenged like me. One last thing. They are very big on proper nutrition and in the last 6 weeks I have really turned around my eating habits; much more healthy. I feel better in general and don't have that sluggish feeling and it doesn't hurt that with the diet and exercise I've loss some weight.

Hey Billy,

So, thanks for all of the squats, leg presses and leg lifts. They got me 4050 feet up a steep, rocky trail to the top of Hawksbill Peak in Shenandoah NP. The boys were much faster than I, but I did it.

Hope u r good and having fun. Hi to Nick!  You know I love working out with you! Working out 4-5 days a week and thanks to you who really jump started me. Ur the best and love reading ur articles each day. I've mentioned u to a couple of people! I was actually working out 3-4 days a week during tax season right up to 3/31. That has never happened. Early February is when I would stop so I've made it a priority. I still eat what u suggested and my blood work has come back great since then. Thanks bro for all that you've done for me.

One Client-One GOAL is what brought me to Fitness Together. I had a regular workout regimen, but found I really needed more, because I wanted to up my game. I came to see Nick and Billy 6 months before my 40th birthday. I decided I would work on a very specific goal of Deadlifting 240lbs, for my 40th birthday. Nick saw where I was starting, mapped out a plan, and systematically for the next 6 months we worked bi-weekly on my goal. We worked to progress on Deadlifting, but even more important progressed to make me stronger each week. You can not beat the one on one attention to YOU that FT brings. Even if you are working with a trainer at a gym, it is not the same experience. At a gym all the people are distracting, you will find that even working with a trainer you wait for equipment, etc. At FT it is you and only you, your goal, and your trainer. If you want to be a better you than you are today, I highly recommend you do this for yourself. I am so happy I did! You can reach goals you never thought were attainable!!
