Josh Durbin


Josh Durbin, co-owner, has been a personal trainer for the last 14 years. Josh graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in Exercise Science and is currently certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. From 2000-2004, Josh was personal training in a hospital based athletic club in Grand Blanc, Michigan. During his time there Josh received tremendous satisfaction by helping his clients transform their bodies and their lives. Josh was also lucky enough to study boxing from Joe Byrd, brother of Chris Byrd (Former IBF heavyweight champion of the world) during his time in Michigan. This training enabled Josh to develop midsection strengthening programs that have produced unparalleled results in his clients.

Brian Durbin


Brian Durbin, co-owner, has been a personal trainer for people of all ages for the past 15 years. He received his bachelors (Exercise Science) and masters (Developmental Kinesiology with a specialization in Biomechanics) degrees from Bowling Green State University and is currently certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Brian has taught courses in exercise physiology, motor learning and control, and lifetime fitness. A specialist in the sciences of biomechanics and motor control Brian, along with his brother Josh, has developed functional training methodologies that have helped over a thousand clients improve the appearance of their midsection, lose weight, and reenergize their lives.

Jake Costner

Personal Trainer - PACK Small Group Training Coordinator

Jake began working with Fitness Together in March of 2009. He received his degree in Corporate Fitness from University of South Carolina Upstate in (2007). While finishing his degree, Jake worked as an intern with a local heath club where he led and coordinated group exercise classes such as boot camps and triathlon training. For the last two years Jake has worked in a physical therapy clinic assisting patients of all ages with their acquisition of the details and importance of rehabilitation exercises. During this time Jake gained valuable experience in helping patients appropriately recover from injury as well as learning the mechanics of musculoskeletal injuries and how to avoid them in the future. An avid endurance athlete, Jake currently enjoys participating in road races and triathlons. He has an enormous passion for pushing himself and his clients to reach their personal health and fitness goals.

Ashley Stuhr

Personal Trainer - Flexibility Expert

Ashley is the newest member of the Fitness Together team. She recently completed the Fitness Together Personal Training Certification program in addition to being an experienced yoga teacher. Ashley has been teaching yoga for the past 5 years and loves what the practice has done for her physically and mentally! After finishing her Master's degree in History, Ashley decided to take a completely different path and the day after graduation headed to Mexico for a month long yoga teacher training program. This one decision spawned a string of fortunate invents that led to teaching and managing jobs, traveling opportunities and most importantly connected her with her husband Johnny, also a yoga teacher. Now living in Charleston for the past two years she has enjoyed teaching yoga at various studios and Roper St. Francis Hospital and feels especially grateful to now be apart of the positive energy at Fitness Together!  She is teaching the new deep stretch class intended to release tight achy muscles and de-stress the mind. Ashley wants all Fitness Together clients to feel welcome, comfortably challenged, and open to the positive aspects yoga/fitness can bring to their own life. In her spare time Ashley enjoys spending time with Johnny, going out for runs, and hanging out with Zero, an incredibly adorable, four-legged yogi!  She also loves cooking and is always interested in learning a new healthy recipe, so any and all suggestions welcome!
