Month 3 - I beat the holidays!!

3 MONTHS:

It’s a Christmas Miracle!  This is the first holiday season I can remember in a long, long time that I didn’t gain weight.  In fact, I am down a total of 24 pounds now!

I will not say that I’ve had perfect eating habits. . . . the holidays are just too tough for that.  However, I have become strong enough that I was able to combat the calories with some extra time on the elliptical.

Though I can’t take all of the credit – I’ve got to give some of that to Steve.  He was adamant that I not skip any workout days because of the holidays, and strongly suggested (i.e. practically insisted) that I come in on alternate days for the workouts that fell on the holidays.  In the end, I’m glad he did . . . I know that the extra discipline was good for me, and I’m sure I would have made even more liberal food choices than I had without it.  Thanks also to Sarah for a great workout on New Year’s Eve!

I should also add that I have had two physical problems this month – I pulled a muscle and had some problems with adhesions due to my ligament issues.   I was shocked when I discovered first-hand how much more quickly the body heals when it is in better condition.  Amazing!

I’m a third of the way towards goal.  After 5 weeks I thought I might be able to make my goal, but now I know it’s just a matter of time.
