JMU Club Lacrosse - Ready to Win!

My name is Steph Ackerman and I am 19 years old. I am a sophomore at James Madison University where I just recently made the Women’s Club Lacrosse team. The selection process for this team was very competitive; I was one of the 8 girls they accepted out of 48!


This summer I trained at FT Medford about 3 days a week from early June to mid-August. I participated in the PACK program and was attracted to the idea of working out with other people in a circuit-style setting all trying to achieve the same goal. I immediately saw results as I continued to eat right and work hard. My strength increased and I really noticed a big difference in my cardio conditioning. 


All of the FT training really paid off when it came to my three days of lacrosse tryouts. I was in way better shape than half of the girls trying out. I came in third place in the mile run and held a starting position in our last tournament where I helped lead our team to an undefeated record!*
