1 Tip to Change the Way you Eat!

I have no control. I visited my mother’s house yesterday had a healthy tuna sandwich for lunch and…..cookies, ice cream and even a can of soda. Why did that happen?!

I had a spectacular week of healthy eating. I thought I had it all figured out. I took time on Sunday and prepared meals for the week. Brought my lunch to work every day. My energy level was flying high and I was in great control.

As I look back the biggest difference between 6 great days and 1 bad day is, AVAILABILITY! My wife and I made a concerted effort to clean out our cabinets and fridge. We made a list of what we wanted to eat for that week. If it was in our house, but not on the list, we threw it away. Each day I had a strict plan to follow, when the cravings came I was easily redirected to healthy choices (On an aside, most cravings came at night, which made me realize that my body was telling me I was tired and I should just go to bed instead of snacking)! If you cannot get your family to conform to this lifestyle then give yourself a shelf in the cabinets and the fridge and only eat from those.

Clearly, I have self-control issues when it comes to having unhealthy food around. Chances are many of you have similar problems. Put yourself in an advantageous position, by removing the AVAILABILITY of poor food choices.
