3 Steps To Achieve Your Weight Loss Goals

Achieving your weight loss goals can be a big task to try and tackle when looking at the big picture. It can be daunting, especially when you have a lot of weight to lose. Adhering to the following 3 steps can help you achieve your weight loss goals and give structure to your weight loss journey. 1. Plan Planning ahead is one of the most important things you can do when trying to lose weight. Holidays, family vacations, kids schedules and many other life situations can throw you off. By planning ahead, you can either have healthy options prepared and/or you can plan ahead for a potential splurge on a certain day by making sure the days leading up to the event are filled with healthy decisions. 2. Set daily goals By setting micro goals on a daily basis, you will be more accountable to yourself. Sometimes having goals that are too long term can easily lead to derailment or feelings that one or two "off" days won't cause any change. Start with things such as drinking half your body weight in ounces a day or getting in 10,000 steps. By choosing to set goals to reach every day, you will not only be one step closer to your overall weight loss goal, but you will feel a sense of accomplishment on a daily basis. 3.Reassess If you are not seeing the progress you want to see after a few weeks, start thinking about reassessing your goals and/or what you are doing to achieve those goals. Small tweaks in your nutrition or workouts can lead to major impacts on your overall weight loss. Remember that weight loss is not perfectly linear. There will be ups and downs but as long as you are trending downward you are on the right track! Make sure to stay the course and don't get down on yourself if you have minor set backs. It takes time, but if you stay the course and follow the steps, you will arrive at your goal!
