3 Ways to Balance Personal Training with Peeps this Easter
Apr 12, 2022
Are you a big fan of squishy, sugar-dusted, multicolored Peeps, but afraid that treating yourself this Easter might lead to a marshmallow-like midriff? Don’t sweat it – mentally, that is. As long as you maintain your exercise routine and make an appointment for some calorie-burning cardio after the holiday, it is entirely possible to balance personal training with a Peep or two this season. Check it out:
- Begin with a nutritious breakfast. The kids’ Easter baskets may be piled high with sugary goodies but resist this early urge in place of a protein and fiber-rich breakfast that will help you power through the holiday. And, hey, while you’re at it – there’s no reason not to have a bit of fun with some seasonal icons. Hardboiled eggs are chock full of vitamins and a great way to kick off a Sunday morning. (Just don’t steal from the Easter egg hunt supply.)
- Make your workout part of the celebration. We’ve mentioned the traditional egg hunt, which in and of itself is a great way to soak up some of the sun’s rays and fresh air while getting in some critical steps. You can also balance personal training with the festivities by taking some time out Sunday afternoon for a fitness studio visit. If that’s not possible, still try to grab 30 minutes to an hour, wherever you are, for some serious aerobic routines that will put some spring in your step.
- Hang with your peeps: And go ahead: indulge in one or two of those marshmallow goodies. As we’ve mentioned during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, now is not the time to rob yourself of life’s simple pleasures. The secret when attempting to balance personal training with a personal life is not to be militant, but to be moderate (and consistent) with those edible rewards. It’s ok to treat yourself on Easter, just be selective. In other words, if you’re going to quote-unquote “cheat,” do so with something you’re seriously craving. Don’t give in to the cheap, foil-covered chocolates. Instead, opt for quality over quantity. You will enjoy the experience more and feel better about cutting yourself off shortly afterward.
