    I was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawai’i, where my journey with fitness first began. Growing up, I was heavily involved in sports—including soccer, baseball, basketball, and volleyball—but I also struggled with being overweight. That personal challenge led me to make a lasting change through improved nutrition and consistent exercise, sparking a passion that still drives me today. That passion ultimately brought me to Michigan, where I attended Cornerstone University. While there, I played collegiate soccer and began preparing for a career in personal training. After graduating, I gained experience working in big-box gyms before finding my home at Fitness Together. What sets this work apart for me is the ability to truly connect with clients and help them build sustainable, long-term habits. I’m passionate about helping individuals improve their strength, mobility, and endurance—so they can not only feel better day-to-day, but also enjoy a higher quality of life for years to come. My goal is to meet each client where they are and guide them toward lasting results through accountability, education, and personalized support.

    In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife (Alyssa), our daughter (Nalani), and dog (Cora). Experiencing all that Michigan has to offer. I love to play a multitude of sports, including golf. Lastly, spending time on the water or near water as much as we can!

    I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a degree in Exercise Science. I have a passion for helping individuals achieve their health and fitness goals through personalized training. My journey into the fitness industry began when I discovered the transformative power of exercise in my own life. As a trainer, I am committed to helping my clients stay motivated and accountable throughout their fitness journey. I believe that exercise should be fun and enjoyable, and I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment that helps my clients stay engaged and committed to their goals.

    Melcolm has been involved with martial arts (Tae Kwon do, wresting, boxing, Brazilian jujitsu, Muay Thai, and MMA) all his life. He has been a fitness professional for the last 5 years, working with all types of clients. Since graduating He have worked in clinical cardiac rehab, Division I hockey strengthening and conditioning, and personal training. I love being a fitness together personal trainer because I am able to devote all of my time focusing on my clients and their needs, while building great friendships, and achieving goals.

    In my free time I love spending time with my 1-year-old son Harrison and reading him Tolkien books. I also enjoy going to concerts and reading comic books as well.

You'll meet your trainer in a private studio or virtually for a 1:1 session to begin your workout program.

You'll receive an assessment every 6 weeks to celebrate your progress and set new goals.
