I grew up in New Berlin with my parents Brian and Linda, along with my older brother Paul. My Dad is retired and both my Mom and Brother are nurses at Froedert hospital. I went to Nathan Hale High School where I was the captain of the Cross Country team, ran track and I played bass in the Orchestra/Jazz band. I received my Bachelors degree in Athletic Training from Carol University in 2010.
My interest in physical fitness started when I was 18. After fracturing both my legs for a second year in a row while in cross country, I was told never to run again by my physician because of low bone density. That was a big reason for me choosing Athletic Training and when looking for a career. Finding out what Fitness Together was all about really got me excited to pursue a career as a Fitness Consultant. After 6 years with the company, and becoming an owner, I am really excited to see how many more life’s I can change for the better.
WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL WELLNESS GOALS?
I look to try to improve my physical health everyday and to always practice what I preach. My motivation is each and every one of our clients, no matter if it is someone looking to lose 100 pounds or just working on being able walk properly. I hope to always set myself up for success when it comes to physical health and to avoid any major surgeries as my body ages. And after years of doing resistance training and minimal high impact running, I have gone from a bone density of -2.1(very low for my age and gender) to 0 "normal". It may not seem like a lot, but for anyone who is familiar with these type of numbers, that is quite the improvement! This is attributed to lifting weights and eating clean.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT BEING A PERSONAL TRAINER?
I want to help people who are willing to get help and get those who are not, excited about starting a new routine! It makes me very happy to be able to see a transformation literally happen before your eyes. It is not only physical changes that we see but also psychological, which can greatly improve quality of life!
WHAT WAS ONE MEMORABLE MOMENT FROM HELPING A CLIENT?
I will never forget a client named Ali, she started at 300 pounds and by staying consistent and putting all of our recommendations into practice she was able to get to 200 pounds in 7 months! If we told her what she needed to do to reach her goal, she would do it.
WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT WORKING WITH A TEAM OF TRAINERS?
I love being able to have productive conversations about ways to improve physical fitness with a team of professionals. We can promise 100% effort to help the client reach their goals. Passion for helping our clients is never in question, and never will be.
