What was your reason for starting at Fitness Together?

I wanted to start getting in better shape before my 30th birthday – specifically, more muscle, better flexibility, and higher strength. After some very false starts, I found that I need someone to motivate me and to teach me proper form for lifting weights. FT was the perfect fit – friendly staff, perfect location, small classes, intense workouts.

What Has Fitness Together helped you with most?

I have a sitting bike at home and do cardio on my own (sporadically), but I had never even attempted to lift weights before. FT really taught me how to lift weights, how to correct my form, when to increase weight, and when to breathe during reps. FT gave me confidence that exercising really is approachable and doable.

How do you think you have most improved since working with Fitness Together?

My biggest goal in joining FT was to gain muscle, strength, and flexibility. I have seen big changes in all 3 categories. Deep squatting and getting our of a deep squat are very simple now – this was NOT the case last spring. I can touch my toes again, and lifting things in awkward positions has become much easier.

How has Fitness Together helped you with your nutrition?

I didn’t realize how much protein a person can eat, nor how much I need to eat to build muscle and maintain the muscle I gain. I was previously eating around 60-80g protein per day, maximum. Now, I try to aim above 150-200g a day. This has increased my daily energy levels and has helped me to consistently gain and keep muscle on my fitness journey.

What do you like the most about the staff or atmosphere?

The staff and fellow gymgoers are super friendly and supportive. It’s a great environment to try your hardest! Everyone is working together and we all want to put in the work. This kind of vibe makes it much easier to really work out!

Do you have any funny or inspiring tales of Fitness Together antics?

Fun moments with the 5:15pm Monday crew pulling through Dan’s workouts and really nice 1-on-1 sessions with Megan that really carried me through some really grueling core workouts.
