I came into my 6 week PACK class challenge having not exercised regularly in many months, and I was a bit overweight. I found the experience at Fitness Together to be a great turnaround!

In the beginning, I’d come out of the PACK classes exhausted, but the staff kept me challenged, and after a week or so, the soreness was gone. They kept a supportive atmosphere – they were always looking to help us deal with old injuries and prevent new ones, and helped all of us, regardless of abilities, get the most out of our workouts and make them fun.

The nutritional coaching was an added bonus! I dropped over 20 pounds in 6 weeks! How nice to come out of the holidays with clothes that fit!

THOUGHTS AFTER 5 MONTHS AT FITNESS TOGETHER.....

2009 brought me cancer, diabetes, and arthritis. But it also brought me to Fitness Together--the best thing I've ever done for myself!  With my medical problems came muscle weakness and markedly decreased stamina.  I was in such poor shape that I wasn't even able to finish my first workout without taking a few breaks because I didn't have the strength to continue.  With Fitness Together, that is now all in the past. After 5 months, I can complete a strenuous workout and feel good afterwards.  My muscle mass and strength are coming back.  My stamina is back to normal.  Along with diet and medication for the diabetes, I've lost 30 lbs and my diabetes numbers are all now normal.* The most important thing for me is that I feel great and feel good about myself--I'm proud of myself!

The trainers at FT know how to help you along at the proper pace, know how to vary the workouts such that they are always different, know how to exercise a muscle group in so many different ways, and they know how to encourage you and push you--but they also know when you're reaching your limit and that it's time to slow down.  It's apparent that they prepare for your workout and make it unique--it's a workout that's specific for me and my needs rather than a cookie-cutter standard routine they use with everyone.  That's important because we're all different and have different needs.  They've also been able to modify my workouts to get results without stressing the joints that are most affected by my arthritis.  They are simply experts at what they do, and more importantly, they care! I'm a believer!

I joined Fitness Together when I was 56. I was overweight and out of shape. Other than a few aerobics classes in the 80s I was pretty new to the concept of working out. After much procrastinating I finally decided to check out the studio and take advantage of the free session. It was a great decision. That first work out was really tough for me…which reinforced how much I needed to do this for myself. I joined Fitness Together that same night. Now a little over a year later I’m half way to my weight loss goal and feeling stronger than I have in decades.* The trainers are great. Their workouts are never easy but they are a lot of fun to work with.  They continually challenge me with new and different exercises so I never feel like I’m getting into a rut. It’s great having the one-on-one attention. The standing appointments really work for me. I know I’m going to be at the gym every Wednesday and Friday at the same time…no excuses. It’s always easier to stick with something when you see the results and with Fitness Together you’ll see those results!

Before I began my first 6-week weight loss challenge I was filled with anxiety and excitement. My initial thought was "I can't do this," but after meeting the team at Fitness Together and completing my first workout I believed "I could do this." I needed this challenge to jumpstart my weight loss and it did! After 6 weeks I lost weight, felt stronger, met some wonderful people and had a better self image.
