Winter Training

It’s cold…I can’t get out of bed…blah blah blah. All those excuses I hear all the time about why it’s hard to get motivated to work out in the cold months of the winter. I know it, getting out of bed is tough and finding that motivation to walk out in 20 degree weather is hard, but it will help out so much to stick with your workouts rather than start slacking.

Why stick to your workout routine during the tough months of winter you ask?

Plenty of reasons,

- Don’t be a lazy butt and get out of bed or off the couch and get some activity in.

- Yes, it could be more tough, but working out will give you more energy to get through these dreary months of work and other day to day events

- Are you paying someone or some place to work out? Well if you are, you are throwing money right down the drain. Get your money’s worth and get to the gym and stay active!

- Winter time is known to be a tough time to stick to a diet with all these holidays. There will be slip ups. Well based on that, getting your butt in the gym will help you not make any extreme changes to your fitness. On the other hand, if you eat like crap and don’t go to the gym, you’re back at square one from wherever you left off before the winter. Not good!

So yes I agree with you, winter months can be rough to get into the gym, but you cannot use that as an excuse! Whatever it takes…get the spring body, school reunion coming up, etc. Find that motivation and use it! Warm weather is just around the corner and you don’t want to be kicking yourself then saying you should have done more over winter!
