When I graduated from college 20 years ago, I wasn’t ready to sit behind the desk. I’ve always had a passion for fitness, it was the only thing in my life that was consistent. I interviewed for the personal trainer job at the Whitefish Bay Fitness Together, and 20 years later here I am. At the time I thought I would only train for a few years, but the more I got involved with the personal aspects of training the harder it was to leave. Now I can’t imagine a new profession.

Most of my free time is spent with my family. It’s exciting to watch my boys grow, taking on new challenges from school and sport activities. Learning what they like, how they handle adversities. Everyday is something new.Anthony Anderson, Studio Lead & Professional Personal Trainer

I was born and raised in central Wisconsin where I grew up involved in sports. I started with baseball at the age of 5 and transitioned to soccer and eventually wrestling as well. I finally fell in love with the sports of cross country and track and field which I competed in from 6th grade until my fifth year at the University of Wisconsin Parkside, where I graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise sciences. I have always been active from playing outside with friends growing up to being in sports, so naturally I wanted to continue being active and expand my knowledge on fitness, not just in a sports setting but in a lifestyle setting as well, which is why I decided to pursue a career in the fitness industry as a personal trainer.

Hang out with my roommates who are previous college teammates. I also enjoy watching movies and Formula One. I also like to take my bike out and find some trails to ride or go cruising on my long board. In the winter I enjoy snowboarding and playing pond hockey. I enjoy cooking as well, always looking for new recipes to try. I’m always also on the search for ideas for tattoos that I can either get or give myself.Caroline Austin, Professional Personal Trainer

I spent 10 years of my childhood in Texas, and as a child, I really didn’t like exercise. I would try to come up with any excuse I could to not participate during gym class, because my preferred way of living was behind a screen. I played volleyball and took dance classes, which I did enjoy but I was frequently looked over. However, I didn’t let that discourage me. In 2014, my family made the move from Texas to Wisconsin. At the time I was still struggling to appreciate exercise, juggling back and forth between doing too little and doing too much. In fact, it took me until about 4 years ago to truly realize why I didn’t like exercise. The issue was that I hadn’t found a method of exercise that I enjoyed yet. When I found weightlifting, my whole perception on working out changed. I actually wanted to show up to the gym everyday and set goals. Now, I’m so passionate about fitness that I want to help others find their favored form of fitness.

Work on self-care via methods such as journaling, reading, weight lifting, or listening to music. I also spend time with my family and friends, including my two corgis and my rabbit. I’m also very big into fashion, so I enjoy styling unique outfits (that I rarely end up wearing).David Bernstein, Professional Personal Trainer

I have been around sports and fitness my whole life, especially baseball and snowboarding. I had multiple surgeries in 8th grade due to a leg-length discrepancy, and during rehab, I found the value of strength training. I spent a lot of time working on the strength and mobility of my leg, and still to this day I am making progress. I love teaching and helping others reach their fitness goals. By the time I was 16, I knew I wanted to be around exercise as a career. So, right when I graduated high school, I became an ACE (American Council of Exercise) Personal Trainer. Fitness Together has a very positive attitude towards exercise, and it is a great place to learn and better my craft. I love goal setting in the gym and believe it is important to work towards your goals and continue to set new ones.

I love to take my dog on long walks, and watch him swim in the lake. I enjoy all watersports, snowboarding, and recently joined a slow pitch softball league. I enjoy traveling and being with my family. I have my own fitness journey, and love seeing progress in the gym. In the summer, I play tennis with my friends, and sometimes even pickleball. In addition, I love playing frisbee golf.Jamel Mosley, Professional Personal Trainer

I was born and raised on the northside of Milwaukee. My parents worked hard and taught me to aim high, so I took their advice. I’ve worked jobs that paid really well, and I thought that was what they meant by “aiming high”. Years later, I realized aiming high is being happy with doing what I love. I soon gave up the menial task that only catered to the fulfillment of my own wants that brought little satisfaction, and decided to make myself available to others based on what came natural to me.

Spend time with family! I enjoy relaxing and maybe grilling on the patio, or dining out, trying new restaurants and attending church activities! Biking and hiking has become a couple more favorites for me as well! I don't plan as much when it comes how we spend our time! I'm more sporadic, and the spontaneity always catch them off guard when I start the awkward family dance offs! Fun!
