When I graduated from college 20 years ago, I wasn’t ready to sit behind the desk. I’ve always had a passion for fitness, it was the only thing in my life that was consistent. I interviewed for the personal trainer job at the Whitefish Bay Fitness Together, and 20 years later here I am. At the time I thought I would only train for a few years, but the more I got involved with the personal aspects of training the harder it was to leave. Now I can’t imagine a new profession.

Most of my free time is spent with my family. It’s exciting to watch my boys grow, taking on new challenges from school and sport activities. Learning what they like, how they handle adversities. Everyday is something new.Caroline Austin, Professional Personal Trainer

I spent 10 years of my childhood in Texas, and as a child, I really didn’t like exercise. I would try to come up with any excuse I could to not participate during gym class, because my preferred way of living was behind a screen. I played volleyball and took dance classes, which I did enjoy but I was frequently looked over. However, I didn’t let that discourage me. In 2014, my family made the move from Texas to Wisconsin. At the time I was still struggling to appreciate exercise, juggling back and forth between doing too little and doing too much. In fact, it took me until about 4 years ago to truly realize why I didn’t like exercise. The issue was that I hadn’t found a method of exercise that I enjoyed yet. When I found weightlifting, my whole perception on working out changed. I actually wanted to show up to the gym everyday and set goals. Now, I’m so passionate about fitness that I want to help others find their favored form of fitness.

Work on self-care via methods such as journaling, reading, weight lifting, or listening to music. I also spend time with my family and friends, including my two corgis and my rabbit. I’m also very big into fashion, so I enjoy styling unique outfits (that I rarely end up wearing).Brandon Myers, Professional Personal Trainer

All through high school I knew that working at a desk job was not going to be for me; at the time I was coaching gymnastics to younger kids and was trying to find the path that I thought would fit best for me. After reflecting and realizing that I loved helping the kids in the job I was currently at, I knew that Personal Training was the job for me. After finishing my NASM Course I got my first training job, as well as a job in Gym Management, and I knew that I had found my calling. I can not imagine doing anything else for work.

Most of my free time is spent doing the things that bring me peace. I often times will write poetry, Reading (Currently a biography of Howard Hughes), or exercising. Over the years I have gotten into combat sports, So if I am not watching two professionals box- you might catch my friends and I boxing in my backyard.Avery Noss, Professional Personal Trainer

I’ve lived in Waukesha County my whole life, and I trained in martial arts for about 12 years, beginning when I was 8 years old. I earned the rank of third-degree black belt at the end of 2020. My love for overall fitness began during the intense training for my first degree black-belt, thanks to the remarkable instructors, one of whom is now a Hollywood Stunt Double, who believed in me and taught me to challenge myself. They inspired me to start assisting in karate classes, and I became a lead instructor for 5 years. I taught all age groups, but adults were my favorite. My passion for fitness and helping others transferred into my career when I began school to become a Registered Dietitian and added a minor in Exercise Science. I became a Certified Personal Trainer in June 2024, and I am so excited to make an impact and support clients at Fitness Together, with building a healthy lifestyle.
