I was pretty committed although scheduling was difficult due to my work schedule long hours and being on call (I am an R.N. working in surgery) so progress was slow at first, but I began to see results.     "I was scheduled for surgery at the end of April 2016. In January, my doctors put me on a medication to help control things until my surgery. The medication controlled my issues, but it also caused me to gain 15 pounds in the 4 months from January to April. 

    When I went in for my pre-op office visit, my doctor said he could no longer do my surgery because of the extra weight I had gained along with my blood pressure and diabetes no longer being under control. I was told to lose 25 pounds and come back. I knew I couldn't do it on my own. Due to health issues, I have trouble eating a lot of the foods that are "good" for you. I started looking for a way to help myself, and I found Fitness Together. 

    Everyone from the trainers to the fellow clients are so supportive. They motivate you to keep going and do all of your weekly exercising. Their dietician, Kara Sabatino, was also able to come up with a food plan that worked for me.

    When I went back to the doctor at the end of June, I had lost 20 pounds and my A1C went from 7.2 to 5.8. The doctor was amazed by my results and wanted to know how I achieved such good results in such a small amount of time. So, I told him all about Fitness Together! He was so happy that he agreed to do the surgery.

    After the surgery is done and my doctor clears me to exercise, I will be right back to FT so they can help me continue my journey to better health!

Jenna chose to be a personal trainer because she believes in the importance of investing in your health now to prevent injuries and illnesses in the future.     Joyce has lived in this area her whole life. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and a Master’s Degree in Sport Science. Fitness and Nutrition have been a lifelong passion of Joyce’s and she became a personal trainer to share this passion with others through a positive and encouraging approach. Joyce hopes to someday be in attendance when the Indians win their next World Series! She also enjoys running, cycling, cooking, gardening, and traveling!
