    I became a client at Fitness Together about 18 months ago.  Arthritic joints and joint replacement surgeries had left me with poor muscle tone.  My primary goal was to strengthen the muscles and take the stress off of the joints.  My feeble attempts at strength training at home were inconsistent and it seemed that the third set never happened!

    The trainers at Fitness Together are awesome!  Not only are they professional and knowledgeable, they all have great personalities and keep the sessions fun.  They continue to come up with new ways to challenge you and keep you motivated.  Who knew there were so many different ways to exercise the same muscles?  And they hold you accountable.  The third set always happens!

    "Prior to joining Fitness Together I was unhappy and unhealthy. Sure, life was great and I was living up my college years to the fullest, but with that enjoyment came weight gain and health issues. I had never had to work out before and I never really worried about my diet. After a couple years of college however, I noticed I was starting to gain a lot of weight and I was needing to buy much bigger sizes in my clothes. With the weight gain, my health problems were getting worse and I was starting to become very unhappy. I was angry with my appearance and angry with my overall wellbeing. I was not one to work out in public, so I became one of the millions of people who fell for infomercial scams. I spent crazy amounts of money on “magic pills, magic wraps, magic bands” and so on. Needless to say, none of that “magic” actually worked. I wanted to improve my appearance, but I didn’t want to give up my cheese fries, BudLights, and lazy days. Finally, my worst day came, I was getting ready for class and my “fat pants” were officially tight. It was time for a change.

    I went to Fitness Together for an initial meeting where I was told something that changed my life. Erin told me that I had to look at this as a lifestyle change, not a diet or workout kick. At my first assessment I could not even complete five pushups, but hey, I guess you have to start somewhere. I started out in the PACK workouts and went twice a week. The workouts are amazing because I started to create a real bond with my trainers and other clients. We became a family. It is so nice to have people cheering you on and holding you accountable. I have made so many friends at Fitness Together. I was also seeing Kara for nutrition sessions and she taught me so much about how to be healthy while still incorporating some of my favorite guilty pleasures now and then (have I mentioned I like beer?) . I even learned that healthy food tastes amazing!

    The weight loss started off slow, but I was reminded that I didn’t gain it over night so I couldn’t expect to lose it over night. After six months I was seeing really amazing results. I was not only dropping pant sizes, but my health was improving and my mood was improving.* I was seeing my doctor less and had more energy than ever. Today, I am proud to say I go to my sessions four days a week, can do 54 pushups, and for the first time in my life, I am excited to go bikini shopping!*

    Lucas was born in Allentown, PA and moved to Youngstown at a young age. He’s an SCW Certified Personal Trainer and he has a Sports Management degree from Malone University. Lucas loves getting to know our clients on a personal level and helping lead them to a better way of life. He is also the best dancer on this side of the Mississippi!

    Lucas was born in Allentown, PA and moved to Youngstown at a young age. He’s an SCW Certified Personal Trainer and he has a Sports Management degree from Malone University. Lucas loves getting to know our clients on a personal level and helping lead them to a better way of life. He is also the best dancer on this side of the Mississippi!

    Joshua is from Coraopolis, PA and now lives in the Canfield area. He has a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and is working towards an associate degree as a Physical Therapy Assistant. As a trainer, Joshua enjoys using his knowledge of exercise to make a difference in someone's physical health and be a part of the journey in motivating them to reach their fitness goals. He hopes to someday write fictional books, travel the world, and become a motivational speaker!

    Jenna is originally from Columbiana and she just moved back to the area. She has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Jenna is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment. Jenna chose to be a personal trainer because she believes in the importance of investing in your health now to prevent injuries and illnesses in the future. Jenna has spent time on five different continents and hopes to continue exploring the world! She also threw javelin and discuss in college!

    Kara lives in Lisbon with her husband and daughter. She is a registered and licensed dietitian and is an NETA certified personal trainer.
