Fitness Manager | Fitness Together® | Rocky Hill, CT

The Studio Manager is directly accountable for the oversight of all administrative, customer service and sales operations of the studio. It is expected that the Studio Manager provides approximately 20 personal training sessions per week in addition to management duties.

As a Fitness Manager, you will...

People Management

  • Align self and others with the philosophies and culture of the brand
  • Provide strong leadership and foster a positive working environment throughout the studio. Ensure that the team is acting as a cohesive unit rather than individuals
  • Develop and execute an ongoing recruiting strategy
  • Manage all aspects of the schedule ensuring proper coverage, canceling sessions when clients are away, and conducting follow-up calls to clients who cancel or are no shows
  • Ensure that the staff identifies and shares emerging training techniques and industry trends
  • Plan, organize and execute monthly team meetings
  • Meet one-on-one with each personal trainer on a monthly basis to focus on personal and professional goal-setting, accountability, and recognition.
  • Provide clear and consistent communication to team; stay current on news and new programs and operational updates communicated from the Support Center
  • Continuously reward, recognize and motivate team

Client Experience

  • Design safe and effective fitness programs accommodating the unique needs and goals of each Fitness Together® client, including adapting programs when clients travel or participate in their sessions virtually
  • Educate and empower clients with a clear understanding of their fitness program, so that they are motivated to stay committed to their plan outside the studio
  • Conduct both in-studio and Live, 1-on-1 Virtual Personal Training sessions with clients
  • Hold self and team accountable for ensuring each client receives an exceptional experience, through the execution of key operational systems and protocols
  • Develop client retention and client appreciation strategies and coach team to implement
  • Implement and monitor an effective client referral program
  • Create and distribute the monthly newsletter

Execute Managerial Duties

  • Develop and execute against the studio annual operating plan and monthly business plans
  • Ensure that the studio is in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as franchise operating systems and standards
  • Hold self and team accountable for achieving new client/new member goals
  • Proactively seek revenue opportunities within the Fitness Together® brand that ensure the long-term financial success of the studio
  • Track studio metrics and develop strategies to achieve desired results
  • Ensure that costs are controlled within budget
  • Ensure that payments are received and entered into the point of sale device the day they are received

Marketing

  • Monitor in-studio promotions/Local Studio Marketing (LSM)
  • Attend networking events, and establish relationships with local businesses
  • Identify and participate in community events and initiatives
  • Ensure the studio website is kept current and relevant

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters in Exercise Science/Physiology preferred
  • National Certification required (NASM or ACSM)
  • 2-4 years of personal training and program design experience
  • CPR/AED & First Aid Certified
  • Prior business management and supervisory experience, preferably in a fitness facility or similar environment
  • Prior P&L accountability preferred
  • Excellent planning and time management skills
  • Solid written and strong verbal communication skills including the delivery of group presentations
  • Ability to motivate, direct, lead a group, and delegate tasks
  • Intermediate computer literacy - MS Office, email, and internet
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions (written and verbal)
  • Ability to remain flexible in a constantly changing environment
  • Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols for the studio
  • Must have the emotional stamina to be “at your best” with each client and team member
