Will occasionally missing a workout session affect my endurance or strength?

Will occasionally missing a workout session affect my endurance or strength?

Chavanne Scott – Manager of Fitness Together Ballantyne in Charlotte, NC

Occasionally missing a workout session will not affect endurance or strength as long as regular, moderate-intense training of 3-5 times per week is maintained a majority of the time. From time to time, it can actually be beneficial to take rest days. Instead of a day off, consider an Active Recovery workout with your FT trainer or coach.

Carrie Burr - FT South End in Charlotte

Occasionally missing a workout will not affect your endurance or strength.  Meaning once in a while.  However if occasionally turns into missing your Wednesday workout every single week, then it is time to reevaluate your priorities and commitment level.

Bruce Kelly - FT Media

Again, research has shown that strength and endurance have the longest lasting effect. It takes up to 30 days before you will notice significant declines in either quality should you not be training them. On the other hand, power training's effects can start to diminish in less than a week if one isn't training power in one's program.
