Personal Trainer Lead | Fitness Together | Northborough, MA

Fitness Together® Northborough, Massachusetts is looking for a Lead Personal Trainer who is passionate about coaching the other personal trainers on the team to continuously improve their knowledge and skills. Fitness Together® Personal Trainers genuinely care about making a difference in the lives of clients and take pride in their work by providing an exceptional client experience that leaves a lasting impact. They empower commitment by holding clients accountable to their goals, and constantly go above and beyond to encourage progress over perfection. In addition, the Personal Trainer Lead is responsible for assisting the Studio Manager with recruitment, hiring and training new Personal Trainers on the Fitness Together® client experience.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • Lead Personal Trainers can expect to earn $32,000 - $45,000 annually (including base pay, bonuses, and benefits), depending on experience, number of sessions trained each week, and performance against goals.

As a Fitness Together® Lead Personal Trainer, you will...

  • Design safe and effective fitness programs accommodating the unique needs and goals of each Fitness Together® client
  • Educate and empower clients with a clear understanding of their fitness program, so that they are motivated to stay committed to their plan outside the studio
  • Coach all team members on program design to ensure that all programs meet brand standards and follow the proper training protocols
  • Audit programs and hold regular meetings with each member of the team to review programs
  • Help to troubleshoot ideas for accommodating clients with challenging injuries or limitations that will keep them safe, but still on track with their goals
  • Express a positive attitude and show regular appreciation to clients and team members
  • Create unique, memorable and personal experiences for clients and team members that make Fitness Together® clients for life
  • Interact with clients and team members without judgement, and express empathy for those around them
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration to meet the needs of those around them
  • Always maintain a space of cleanliness and ensure a safe and accident-free environment
  • Professionally represent yourself through your appearance, language, and behavior
  • Express patience and determination to hold clients accountable to reaching their goals
  • Constantly look for ways to enhance your skills to grow as an expert in your field
  • Create opportunities for the team to share skills and knowledge so that everyone can continuously improve


Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field preferred
  • National Certification required (NASM or ACSM)
  • 2-4 years of personal training and program design experience
  • Extensive understanding of injury prevention/management
  • Experience & success working with special populations
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certified
  • Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to collaborate and thrive in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt quickly to each client’s individual needs
  • Must have the emotional stamina to be “at your best” with each client
  • Ability to motivate and coach clients, in order to ensure continuous progress
  • Ability to motivate, direct, lead a group, and delegate tasks
  • Intermediate computer literacy - MS Office, email, and internet
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions (written and verbal)
  • Ability to remain flexible in a constantly changing environment

Unlike traditional big box gyms and personal training studios, Fitness Together provides a holistic, prescriptive approach that incorporates resistance training, cardiovascular training and nutrition counseling.

Our team of Fitness Experts sole responsibility is to focus on the clients, their experience and their results! Our experts are not responsible for sales or booking their own schedules. If you do  like sales is a plus

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science or related study
  • At least 1 Year experience in the Exercise/Personal Training industry; including work with special populations
  • ACSM, NASM, OR ISSA Certifications preferred
  • Must be available and flexible to work consistently, schedule TBD
  • High degree of motivation, detail orientation, and positive, upbeat energy
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Exceptional work ethic
  • Enjoys & excels in a team environment.

Minimum Job Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or related study is a minimum requirement for consideration of employment
  • Performing individual fitness assessments for clients every 6 weeks
  • Thorough understanding of science-based progressive training programs
  • Creating customized training programs for clients based on consistent assessment results
  • Thorough knowledge of injury prevention & post-rehab recovery; disease prevention & management; special conditions & limitations; high-performance athlete; as well as geriatric population-Motivating and educating clients to reach their individual goals
  • Successful completion of Fitness Together Certification (written & practical)
  • Teamwork in maintaining the studios' appearance and reputation
