    Maria G - age 28

With her parents owning a thriving Greek restaurant, food was always at the center of Maria's family culture.  Every special occasion, every happy moment, was associated with some kind of delicious, special food.  It became impossible to keep the pounds from adding up.  Over the years she had tried exercise and diet in spurts, but it was only when she partnered with Fitness Together that she was able to get her body back to where she wanted it.  Before this photo was taken she was offered her choice of FT tee shirt sizes.  Thrilled tears came to her eyes when she said, "I'm a small!"

"She's a model client.  She keeps up with her scheduled sessions, does her cardio, and follows the FT nutrition counseling.  She put her trust in us, and her faith in herself, and that's how she lost over 60 pounds*, and kept it off."

I can't begin to express the gratitude I have toward you and your team at FT for the fantastic  results you have assisted me in achieving,  I have struggled with weight issues for most of my adult life.  Once I hit 40, the struggle became even harder and I began accepting the fact that I was losing the weight loss battle.

I saw FT advertisements and mailers but ignored them until April of this year when I finally dragged myself out of the house and over to the fitness studio.  After only several minutes, I felt a tremendous level of trust and confidence that my fitness goals are as important to FT as they are to me.  This confidence helped to renew my enthusiasm and dedication toward my new fitness goals.

I have never come close to the results that am experiencing from the short time that I've been working with my trainer.  I joined FT at the end of April 2008 and have lost 40 pounds in 3 months and reduced my body fat 10%.*  Most importantly, I can run and play with my two young children for hours without my body giving out.  That's the most rewarding factor. Of course the "Vinny, you look great"! comments haven't hurt either!

My only regret is that I didn't take advantage of your services sooner. I look forward to even more challenging and rewarding fitness sessions for years to come!

  • Phyllis W - age 58

At 58, coming off a serious knee injury and huge weight gain, I was pretty much done with the idea of getting fit. It was too late. And I was too “soft.” Muscles? Are you kidding me? I haven’t had muscles in 30 years.

My first conversation with Sandy convinced me I should try this one-on-one approach of easing back into health. In just six months of training, I’ve built endurance, muscle strength (yes, we can still tone muscles in our 50s), and a sense of confidence and well-being I haven’t had in ages.

I can’t say enough about what the Fitness Together has done for me physically and mentally!

The trainers are excellent and the workouts are challenging, fun and flexible. I also love the individual attention and the private workout studios. My lifelong aversion to the gym is gone!  I’ve never been able to stick to an exercise program for more than six weeks. I’ve been at Fitness Together in Sudbury for almost a year – and I still love it! Great workouts, great staff and great results!  I can’t say enough about this program. It’s challenging, interesting and fun. The trainers work with people at all fitness levels and customize the program just for you – it doesn’t get better than that!*

  • Peggy R - age 67

I LOVE the personal feeling. The atmosphere is upbeat, lots of laughs and encouragement. The time flies by!

I would say if you have been avoiding exercise and fitness training, this is THE PLACE to go! You will really feel a desire to go to your sessions, not only because you feel better afterwards but because you enjoy the company of the trainer, and the other staff and clients. I also like the size of the facility. Very personal, non-competitive, friendly, convenient, and FUN!

  • Nancy Mills

Training Frequency: Nancy does three one-on-one sessions per week and hardly ever misses a session. Her dedication to fitness over the years is one of the top in the studio.

Cardio Frequency: Nancy does 10-15 minutes of fast-paced cardio after each session. She also walks in her neighborhood 3 to 4 times per week.

Nutrition: Nutrition is very important to Nancy. All of her meals are freshly prepared. “I eat about 6-7 times each day to keep my metabolism at a regular level. Balanced meals are a key to a healthy lifestyle.”

Results: Nancy has been with Fitness Together since 2006 and since then has lost 15lb, 5% body fat and has more than doubled her strength.* More importantly, Nancy consistently maintains these great results through every fitness assessment she has. We all know how hard this is to do. Great job Nancy!

How Fitness Together has helped: Fitness Together has given Nancy the stamina and endurance to do all she wants to do. The frequent training has continued to keep Nancy strong and balanced. “I look forward to my sessions. The trainers are so professional and on-task, but we still have time for conversation and laughter.”

If you’re looking for a fun meaningful way to get into shape I highly recommend the team at FT Sudbury/Wayland. Each trainer brings a unique style so make sure you try a session with each one to find your right fit. I’ve been a client for 18 months and have worked with Kevin, Maria and Kurt. They are all wonderful and always know where I’m at in my workout ability no matter which trainer I saw last. They take the time to review my work log and plan workouts that push me without compromising safety. Josh is great. He is very understanding and flexible which makes for a comfortable environment all around. I’ve lost 15lbs and many inches but most importantly I feel great!

Dear Adam, Andy, Nolan, Robin, J.T., Paul & Josh,

Thank you so much for everything you have done for me during my time at Fitness Together. I came into this truly not believing that I could make it. I had given up on every fad diet, every real diet, and every gym I have ever tried. Now I know I can do it and will. I also started only caring about the number on the scale and losing weight. I still care about that... but I also like seeing muscle forming, feeling stronger, healthier and most importantly, feeling like I have control over my life. I understand what I need to eat and when, what I need to do for exercise and how to do it and what results I will get when I stick with it.

I also appreciate your consideration and flexibility, giving me the time slots I needed given my difficult schedule working full time and being a single mom. You made this experience work for me and I am and will always be grateful.

Finally, thank you for your patience and great attitude working with me. Whenever I whined or acted like a complete brat (99.9% of the time! :) you could have eased up and made it a less intense workout but you pushed me to complete what you knew I could do. You made me enjoy working out (o.k. at least in-between each exercise it was fun!) and it just will not be the same without you. I am definitely hoping to return for at least some refresher sessions so enjoy this rest because I may be back... :)

    Thank you for everything...

I think you know that I have high regard for all the trainers--they are professional, knowledgeable, and careful. I cannot stress careful enough--they encourage without pushing to the point of pain or injury. They educate on nutrition (and, I might add, they're a bit of a conscience in that regard. I think on a few occasions, I wasn't completely truthful about what i had eaten for breakfast or dinner--they're definitely judgmental about nutrition--but not in a bad way!)

I have more stamina, energy, flexibility, and strength than I have ever had. I always look forward to my sessions, and strive to exceed my own expectations of what I am capable of.

You can feel confident in the abilities and qualities of your staff--and I am so appreciative of their talents.

    Sincerely,

    Lucille

Total Knee Replacement is not, as many will tell you, for the faint of heart.  The memories of my first one still linger after six years so I approached the second one, at age 63, with apprehension and a little bit of fear.  Four months prior to surgery I joined Fitness Together in Natick expecting that I might be able to gain a little strength to prepare me for the long recovery.

My trainer, John, was very skilled at working to build my leg muscles and just increase my range of motion and strength overall.  After a few months of visits three times a week, I could see and feel an amazing difference.  It wasn’t just about weight loss, which came slowly, but about increasing muscle mass and toning my body.  The week before surgery I had lost over 10% body fat and 11 inches overall.*  I was ready.

My surgery was “textbook” – no complications and I was on my feet the second day.  Home on the fourth day and off my crutches in two weeks with a 105 degree range of motion in my knee.  Now, heading into my fourth week of recovery and physical therapy, I have even amazed myself with my ability to get around and move.  My therapist says that the strength of my quadriceps muscles has aided tremendously in the support of that new knee.

I expect at the six week mark to return to FT to focus again on all those body parts that have not had much attention while the knee was getting stronger.  So, if you are considering any kind of joint replacement, or just have a health issue you want to address, look to the team at “Fitness Together”.  They know how to do it right and they don’t need to make unrealistic promises.  If you make the commitment and work at it, it will just happen and you will not look back.

I want to feel young, strong, healthy and in control for life. I will be that 80 year-old still out there enjoying a beautiful day on the ski slope. I will be the one out sledding with my grandchildren. I know that I have to do something today and every day to make that dream a reality.

Fitness Together is my fountain of youth. I have struggled with my weight all my life – an athlete inside who let the stress of a hectic life get the better of me time and time again. How many times have I lost that 60 pounds and then put it back on? A year and a half ago I was at a comfortable weight and running 5K’s with my 10 year old daughter. Then my job in the financial sector took a nose dive. I stopped running and going to the gym and put on 30 lbs. Still 40 pounds below my highest weight, I knew I had to do something and quickly. I quit my job, started my own accounting business and joined FT in the fall of 2008.

I always feel good after my workouts with John. I am proud of myself for what I have achieved. I am so much stronger and have lost inches and body fat. Weight is still a struggle, but John’s encouragement helps keep me on track. The set appointments give me no excuse – I can’t just say I have too much work to exercise. I have to make exercise the first priority which is how it should be. Keeping strong, healthy and confident only improves my business and my relationships with my husband and three busy teenagers. Besides the personal attention, I also like that I don’t have to think or follow any plan. John tells me what to do and I just do it. He pushes me harder than I would myself and the chance to just let my brain turn off and my body do the work for once is therapeutic.

I am an avid skier and have had great success hitting the slopes this year thanks to all those squats and lunges!!! I can pretty much keep up with my 14 year-old daughter who is on the high school ski team and loves to go from the top of the mountain to the bottom without stopping – FAST (so do I). No rest for those quads! I am happy to share that we do some amateur racing for fun and I recently won a bronze medal in the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge at Sunday River!

Thanks FT for getting me back on track and keeping me there.

As a kid growing up, I’d always been very active and enjoyed playing a lot of different sports.  Twenty-five years at a desk in the corporate world, however, had left me overweight, out-of-shape and (most of the time) out of breath.  Worst of all, I had become a smoker and no matter what I tried, I couldn’t “kick the habit.”  I’d tried exercise in the past but every sports club, spa and athletic facility I sought out left me frustrated.  What equipment should I use?  How do I incorporate weights into a program?  How many reps should I do?  How many sets?  Is there a right way or a wrong way to do what I’m doing?  And finally – what kind of effects are my efforts having? Aside from changes in weight (which even I can figure out on a scale!), what else should be – or could be – happening?

Everything changed when I joined FT earlier this year – and I couldn’t be happier with the results.  I’ve lost 11 lbs, reduced body fat from 35% to 27%, seen a total of 8 inches disappear from my hips, waist and shoulders and – on a “good day” – I can racklift 245 lbs.*  Most important – I quit smoking within weeks of becoming an FT client and have been smoke-free for 10 months.

I think FT works for two reasons.  First of all, the model is right.  Working one-on-one with a trainer who knows what he or she is doing provides motivation, builds confidence and generates that oh-so-necessary feedback that makes improvement possible.  Secondly, the Natick FT staff is just plain terrific!  I’ve had the opportunity to work with just about everyone and have never had anything but a positive and energizing experience.  Of course, I have a particular “soft spot” for my two “regulars,” Andy and Adam, who put up with me every week. Consummate professionals, they are also two of the nicest guys I know.  Slip, slide or stumble – and I still do a lot of all of that! – I know there is always a quick hand, a strong arm and a calm presence that will get me back on track and moving in the right direction.  I can only hope that they will continue to put up with me.  I still have things I’d like to accomplish and I can’t imagine getting where I want to go without the support, encouragement and professional assistance I’ve found at FT.  My thanks go out to everyone on the staff; it’s been GREAT!!

I was like a lot of people at the beginning of the year, vowing to eat better, lose weight and get healthier.  Having struggled with being morbidly obese for over 40 years, I certainly have tried all of the fad, healthy and not-so-healthy ways to attempt to lose weight - and yes, they all worked, but I was never able to sustain the progress.  While in Bermuda for vacation in January 2008, I saw ads for their annual marathon and 10K walk and vowed that I would participate in 2009.  I started off the year with dieting alone and managed to take off the first 20 pounds.  At that point, I did a lot of reflecting on all the things I'd tried and why it never "stuck" for me.  The answers were not new or shocking - if I was serious, I needed to put both the healthier eating AND some exercise together.  I'd always waited until I lost a significant amount of weight before starting to walk and I was usually discouraged by this time.  I knew that the crowded gym with my insecurities weren't the best route for me, that I wanted a one-to-one program  and when I received a Fitness Together notice in the mail, I decided to go chat with them.  What I found was a caring, supportive environment where I was heard when I said I wanted to work with someone closer to my age who "got it" that life stressors had a major impact on my physical as well as mental status and that my goals were not to become a body-builder, but to lose weight and get my body into a shape it had never enjoyed that could be sustained.

My trainer, Paul Nichols, has been an island of sanity in this stressful world.  He is the perfect blend of motivator, teacher and supporter - all with his unique sense of humor which makes it all easier.  All of the trainers and other clients had made me feel comfortable and there's always someone with words of wisdom and support.  With trusting Paul's help and encouragement, I have lost almost 70 pounds and over 35 inches* and I am eating things that I would have never even tried before - all done during months that included my hubby being sick, losing my job and my dad dying - definitely a first time accomplishment for me in such stressful times!  Paul has helped me find realistic ways to incorporate what I've learned into my daily activities which will sustain me long after the training sessions end.  I am learning that I'm not "working out" but "working IN" taking care of me and learning how to do it right this time.

On the horizon for me now is reaching that goal of the 10K walk.  When I started this, I couldn't have walked even a half-mile, but that dream has been a very powerful motivator this year.  Thanks to my loving and supportive hubby, our travel plans are now set for January and I've signed up for the Bermuda 10K walk with friends who are joining me on this journey.  Hats off to Paul and the great FT Team for all their caring and encouragement!

Wow! Six months already at Fitness Together. Its 5 months and 3 weeks longer then I expected to last. Now I just love it.

When I started, I felt doing the assessment was going to be extremely difficult. I remember that I was very nervous but figured I could get through it if I just close my eyes. I guess I shouldn’t have been surprised that I didn’t have to do that, since Nolan treated me with so much respect and dignity. Each retest thereafter I was again very nervous (tests do that to me) but Nolan was always very supportive and encouraging.

Each week I look forward to my Friday session with Nolan. He always challenges me to do the best I can and not give up - at the same time we have a lot of laughs. Nolan has replaced feelings of doubt with feelings of hope.

Recently I had foot surgery and when the nurse checked my heart rate she said it was one of an athlete. Imagine that, me the original couch potato an athlete. Who would have thought that that would be said about me six months ago? Certainly wasn’t me.

So it is with my deepest gratitude that I say thanks for making me feel better and for such a caring and supportive group at FT-Natick.

Now that it has been six months since I joined Fitness Together I wanted to take the time to let you know what my experience has been like so far.

Let me start by saying that Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are my favorite days of the week. On those mornings I wake up with a smile on my face because I know where I am going later on in the day. It just keeps getting better and better.

Working with Adam twice a week is such outstanding experience. He demands the best from me and never accepts I can’t, even on the days I don’t think I have it in me. He has shown me that I do have what it takes to work hard to obtain a fitness level which has improved the quality of my life. Though Adam’s sessions are quite challenging, we still manage to have a lot of fun.

Adam brings to each session a professional, encouraging and supportive attitude along with a friendly smile. He has made what seemed to be unreachable, a reality.

So it is with great admiration and respect for Adam and the entire FT-Natick staff that I say thank you for creating such a friendly and welcoming environment.

or making me feel better and for such a caring and supportive group at FT-Natick.

So far, so good! I joined FT Natick to support my long-term goals of becoming a "qualified" Boston Marathon runner and to maintain a healthy weight and fitness level. When I started working out with my FT Team, my more immediate goals were to strengthen my core, drop a few pounds and get a little faster....I was scheduled to run my 7th marathon less than 2 months from my first workout. Meeting with Adam and Andy each week, I have benefited from their team approach, working around my busy schedule and providing immediate impact on achieving my goals. I am happy to report that I not only lost a few extra pounds of fat (and gained some critical muscle mass)* but I was able to run the Maine Marathon at a personal record (PR) pace of under 3 hours and 43 minutes -- 10 minutes faster than my previous PR! As I've told both Adam and Andy, what impressed me the most about my improvement was not the speed gain, but the awareness of how the workouts have impacted my running. I could actually feel my stronger mid-section almost pulling me up the hills when my legs were fatigued and my recovery time following the marathon was the quickest and smoothest yet. Also, the agility and balance exercises for my legs, hips and back helped me overcome a couple of missteps, potholes, and a steep road shoulder on the marathon course. While I still have to shave another 22 minutes off my marathon time to qualify for the Boston Marathon, I feel like I'm heading in the right direction and appreciate the high-impact kick and ongoing motivation I get from the FT team. Thank you.

"I had a great experience at Fitness Together!  I always looked forward to the challenging yet fun (well, as fun as working out can get) workouts they had planned for me!  I especially enjoyed my time with Adam, he really understood what it was that I needed and wanted from my workouts!  Adam was extremely motivating and helped me reach my goals.  He created a workout program that I am getting continued results from!"

Fall 2007: Both my kids were off to college.  Finally I had time on my hands, yet, after months of saying “I need to go back to the gym,” I still hadn’t.  It was just too overwhelming to find a place that would meet my needs, didn’t smell like feet, had the equipment I wanted and when I wanted it, and would keep me motivated and interested.  Last Christmas, my husband finally gave me that push I needed: 8 sessions with a personal trainer at FTNatick.

Those first 8 sessions, spread out over 4 weeks, proved tough and eye opening and yet strangely exhilarating. My trainers, Andy and Paul, were encouraging and seemed completely focused on me and my success. Thinking I was out of shape and then discovering how much, was tough.  Especially since I am actually athletic, wasn’t trying to lose weight, and didn’t have any health problems.  I snow ski and water ski, although I admit that I no longer cared if I did either.

During my sessions I was surprised to discovered that I lacked strength and balance.  I sometimes actually had to place my hand on Andy or Paul’s shoulder to keep from tipping over.  Yet, I signed up for 8 more sessions.  While strolling on the tread mill at a pace that could only be called SLOW, one of the other trainers, Adam, would quietly remind me that the point was “cardio,” and that maybe moving a little faster would be a good idea.  This meant giving up the newspaper balanced on the console in front of me.  Somewhere along the way, I added a third day with John.  Then, it all clicked! I found I couldn’t wait until my next workout.  I couldn’t stop talking about my workouts and trainers.  I walked around smiling, constantly.  Evidently, this was just rare enough that friends and family kept asking me what was so funny?

When Wayne and I went to Colorado for a ski trip this past spring,  I tore up the trails and was the last person calling it quits.  I actually skied a mogul run.  I was euphoric.  Five months into my training, summer started, along with water skiing.  No pain anywhere!  In addition, I am now running two miles, two days a week.  I feel great.

Finally, there are my two “retests” to consider.  Between January and July, I have gone from  35% to 26.8% body fat.  My weight has dropped from 130 to 124.*  My metabolism is cranking.   I have lost inches and gained strength, actually dead-lifting 225 lbs.  I am calmer, more focused, and I always feel HAPPY.

Andy, Paul, and John are great trainers.  I trust them. They each bring something different to my sessions.  The other trainers are equally skilled and as dedicated to their clients.  If you are on the fence, step off and sign up.   Or get your husband to buy you 8 sessions!  Ski season is coming.

    Pat K.

    Dear John,

Thank you for letting me be part of Fitness Together! This has been and continues to be such an incredible journey for me.  You have put together a team that is second to none. Everyone is encouraging and even motivational in their support of my efforts.
But, I do have to single out Adam and Nolan. Not only are they exceptional trainers but extraordinary young men and I am extremely proud to know them both and to be working with them on my self improvement.  They have brought out in me something I didn't know I had and that is the ability to work hard, be determined and succeed.
I need to share this with them because they are an important ingredient in my continuing success.
They have also given me an extraordinary gift, the knowledge and ability to take back control of my life. It’s hard to put into words how grateful and appreciative I am of their work with me.
So from the deepest part of my heart, thank you for welcoming me and caring about me in so many wonderful and constructive ways.

     With warm regards,

    Pat K.

For the past 25 years, I have been searching for the best way to get my body into shape in a manner that fits in with  the many commitments that compete for my time. In Fitness Together I have finally found my answer. Carefully supervised and enthusiastically coached by FT's excellent trainers, I have, in a short period of time, created a routine that has made me stronger and more fit than I have been since my 20s. I am loosing weight and gaining strength. But Fitness Together is more than just an exercise program. FT is enabling me to develop a new lifestyle, a healthier lifestyle, that will enhance my life for year to come.

John -- Just a note to let you know how much I've  benefited from my training session with Paul at Fitness Together.   Your program is exactly what an "age challenged" exercise neophyte needs to get back on the road to improved fitness.  I especially appreciate the emphasis on developing my individual goals and tailoring the program to allow me to see progress that others have noticed. Thanks.

Good Girl, Nice Job....Four Words to Success!

I've had many "starts" on my journey to successful weight loss and improved health status, however, those four words, repeated frequently by Paul, my personal trainer, assures me that now my dreams can and will be a reality!  Paul is supportive and encouraging as he paces me through the rigors of my workout routine, never pushing me beyond my ability to respond, meeting the many challenges imposed by my 70 year old bones and muscles.

FITNESS TOGETHER aptly describes the warm, caring and supportive environment created by staff and other clients as we cheer each other on to success.  Good girl, nice job is what gets me up three days a week; pushes me to work with weights I never thought I'd be able to endure; keeps me on the treadmill with increasing speed and time until sweat begins to ruin the makeup I so carefully applied just hours before my arrival.  Four very simple words, one powerful outcome....Success!

    Tony

This is a thank you note for the results that I have experienced with your organization.  Your group, led by John T and supported by Andy and Paul led me to better health measured by weight loss of 81 pounds, tread mill exercising for 40 minutes at a 15 incline at speeds of 3.5 and rack pulling 315 lbs.*  However, the best statistic is after eliminating my blood pressure medications and during my most recent doctors visit having a 122/70 blood pressure.*
While obtaining milestones, your group are as excited as I.  You should be proud of your people, how they motivate, care and become a partner in your customer’s goals!

    You have a great group!

    70 is the new 50

I came to Fitness Together to improve my balance and strengthen my core muscles and ,as a bonus, this sedentary 70 year old gained new confidence! Manager John Troiano is a highly skilled trainer who designed a program specific to my needs. Despite my moans and groans, he's ALWAYS upbeat and encouraging . To my surprise I'm now able to gracefully slide in and out of the car, walk away from the table in a restaurant and not be limping and stroll the Natick Collection steady and secure. Owner John Pantera creates a positive, welcoming atmosphere. Treat yourself! Fitness Together is well worth your time!

I started Fitness Together October 1, 2007.  I had never been to a gym a day in my life and had no idea where to start and how to developan effective exercise and eating plan.  The idea of one on one in your own room appealed to me greatly.  Adam, from the begining tailored a plan that fit my beginning level.  I was constantly encouraged and pushed to do one more.  Adam is also very resilient to whining and in turn-makes it a positive.  I started at 37% body fat and in 12 weeks I am now 28%.* I have so much more energy, I feel great.  I have learned how to eat a healthy balanced diet.  This is not a "fad" routine and diet that gets boring or is impossible to follow.  This is a change in lifestyle that will work and the results are fantastic.  I am so thankful to Adam and the staff of Fitness Together for helping me get a handle on my health and fitness.

When my husband proposed to me in April 2006, I realized that starting a life with him also meant starting a healthier life for myself. I had always been an active person before meeting my husband.  I was heavily involved in dance, yoga and pilates and loved exercise. However, upon meeting him, my health and all things healthy for me went out the window. I decided it was far more fun to drink cappuccinos, go out to dinner all the time and eat lots of desserts than it was to sweat in the dance or yoga studio.  It was amazing to me how in just a few weeks, which turned into months, and then into years, my body went from in-shaped and toned, to pudgy and overweight.

Upon meeting John Pantera in March 2007, I was instantly impressed by his professionalism, knowledge and personal support.  He was genuine, down-to-earth and inspiring.  I joined Fitness Together immediately and began my workout program 3 days a week. Getting up at 6am was not fun but it held me accountable for my health and prevented me from slacking off; something your average gym does not offer.  Knowing that my trainer, John Troiano, was waiting for me at 6am meant I couldn’t let him down. John's workouts were hard and challenging but I trusted him as the expert and knew he had my best interest in mind.  He was extremely knowledgeable about personal health and fitness and passed that knowledge on to me. Additionally, my sessions with John were never just about lifting weights or running on the treadmill.  He always educated me on the various muscles in my body and how they work together.

By the time I got married in September 2007, I dropped two sizes in my clothes, lost over five percent body fat and reduced my overall body measurements.* Not only was I transformed into the buff bride that I longed to be, but I was healthier, happier, full of energy and ready to start my new life with my new husband.

It would've been easy for me to quit Fitness Together after the big day. I achieved my personal goals and no longer had a wedding dress to wear.  However, I feel that investing in my personal health and well-being is a life-long decision.  Staying with Fitness Together is the healthiest and smartest choice for me.  After almost one year, I still sleep walk to the gym 3 days a week for my 6am workouts with John.  I still sigh and grudge when he makes me do things I don't want to do.  But, I would not trade it for anything.  I've made some wonderful friends at Fitness Together and I always walk out with a smile.  I leave every session feeling better about myself and feeling even healthier about life.

    Dear John,

I just wanted to write you to say thank you so much for everything you've done for me. Fitness Together in Natick has literally changed my life. I can even say, you have probably even saved my life.

When I first called you to enquire about Fitness Together, I had hit rock bottom. I was the heaviest I had ever been in my life. I had no energy. I couldn't keep up with my two year old daughter. Not to mention, my heath had begun to suffer because of my weight. I had high blood pressure. My asthma was out of control. I couldn't walk up a flight of stairs without being out of breath. I couldn't even look at myself in the mirror, because I didn't like what I saw.

I had always hated exercising until I started working out with John T. Workouts with him are never boring and he always challenges me. I actually love working out now. I started working out 3 days a week and now I go 4 to 5 times a week. Not because I have to, because I WANT to. Every time I work out with John, I learn something new from him. Whether it's about nutrition, exercise technique or cardio, he really knows what he is talking about. I can't say enough good things about him. I always feel great about myself when I leave there. I have nothing but praise for all of your trainers.

I am happy to say that after three months of training at Fitness Together, I can fit into clothes I haven't been able to fit into for four years. I no longer have to shop in the "big girls" department. I can't imagine ever working out anywhere else. I can't wait to see what I look like after another three months! I have gone from being on four different asthma medications to only two. My blood pressure is great and I feel wonderful! I run up and down the stairs now, never having to stop to catch my breath.*

Thank you again for helping me to feel better about myself again. You guys are the best! I feel like I not only found great trainers, I found great friends.

Joining Fitness Together in Natick and having John Troiano as my trainer has been a fantastic experience. I used to work out when I was much younger, but for the last 20 years I’ve made up excuse after excuse to skip going to the gym while my weight has skyrocketed and my overall condition deteriorated. I was in terrible shape when I joined and now, only 14 weeks later, my stamina, strength and flexibility have dramatically increased while at the same time I’ve lost a considerable amount of weight. John T. has made the workouts both challenging and fun, and when I know I have an appointment to meet John for a session at FT, I don’t want to make up any excuses – I look forward to going.

In the seven weeks that I have been working out with Paul I have lost body fat and made significant gains in strength and endurance. Paul is an incredibly motivational trainer. He has pushed me to do things that I did not believe I was capable of. Paul effectively integrates his extensive knowledge of exercise physiology and nutrition with a motivational attitude that is enhanced with a sense of humor and compassion. My work outs with Paul are not always fun, are never easy but are ALWAYS worth it.

John Troiano is a terrific trainer. He has a good mix of challenge, know how and enough fun to keep the time go back fast.  John pays attention to your success well past the workouts. He knows your lifestyle, priorities and always tries to find ways to fine tune your training.

I am Fitness Together-Natick’s 1st client and have been working out there for the past three months-3 days per week. My goals were to lose some weight, tone up, build some strength and just feel good about myself.  As a busy person who works a lot of hours and does a lot of volunteer work I needed to make some time for me and get some guidance on a regular exercise program as well as good nutrition habits.

In just over three months in working with John, Andy and Paul at Fitness Together I have had an unbelievable amount of success that has led me to be named, “Client of the Month for July 2007.”

Each trainer brings different training skills to the table so that each and every workout is challenging me to strive to do my very best. The positive energy that you get every time you walk in the door from everyone including John Pantera, the owner, and his staff as well as other clients is energizing and makes you want to succeed to do your very best and get to the next level.

In just over three months I have lost 23 pounds, 6 inches off of my waist, 4 inches off my chest and 5 inches off my hips.* This all resulted in a reduction of my body fat by 7.5 %.*

My goal now is maintain my weight and continue to build my strength and I know that the folks at FT-Natick will help me succeed.

Fitness Together changed my life. I have never been so confident in myself ever.  It has not just helped me with losing weight, but I feel so much better about myself too.  My trainers have helped for the last 9 months and I am still continuing with the program they have designed for me.  I love going because everyone there is so nice, and I also have gotten big improvements in my body and my confidence. I’m so glad I go to Fitness Together, I love going there.

                                  Natick

I joined FT Natick in October 2010. I was hesitant to begin exercising, as I had recently gained a lot of weight and had not been active since about 2004. I felt welcome from the beginning. I worked with a wonderful trainer, Nolan, twice a week for about 4 months.  He knew how to set up a routine that was safe and effective for an extremely overweight and inactive 46- year old female. My trainer is motivating and upbeat and I was enthusiastic about my workout commitment.

I have shifted to training once a week at FT and continue twice weekly cardio outside of the studio. In the past 11 months, I have lost 40 pounds and my health has improved dramatically.*

Before FT, I was 100 pounds overweight, had sleep apnea, pre-diabetes, high cholesterol and chronic back pain.  My back no longer hurts and I can participate in so many fun activities such as the Macy's Thanksgiving parade in NYC and a recent day at Old Sturbridge Village. I even completed a 5k walkathon.*

I am now eating using suggestions from the book "whatever it is" and have really cut back on junk foods. Thank you to everyone at FT, it is a great place to improve your quality of life!

I had attended a regular gym for a few years.  No trainer at the gym told me that use of a heavier weight on my knees was not good form, and would not help me increase flexibility.  I was also not told that a specific arm machine was not addressing my shoulder limitations.  Since coming to Fitness Together, my knees are stronger, and my balance is improving.  I am 78 years old and my unique physical needs are being addressed.  For an adventure in being personally fit, go to Fitness Together!

    Dear Josh:

I can hardly believe that it has been 4 years since I joined Fitness Together.  How time flies when you are having fun.  It’s because of Adam’s continued motivation, support and encouragement that I like going to FT so much. He is always there for me and for all his clients.  I know that I put in the time but he does as well.  I could never have gotten to the level I have without the passion he has in helping his clients reach their goals.

I have seen how much he has grown as a trainer.  His level of self confidence and knowledge of physical fitness and nutrition has expanded greatly.  I am so proud and honored to have been part of that. I realized early on that giving Adam my trust and to have faith in his ability would prove to be a wise decision.

Since I have met my goal weight Adam has the ability to keep me focused and challenged in order to maintain my weight and feel strong.  On those few occasions that I have gained a few pounds and ready to freak out he knows how to calm my fears, ignore my neurotic behavior and put me on the right path.  I could not have made it this far without his expertise.

So it is still with great admiration and respect for Adam and the entire FT-Natick staff that I say thank you for creating such a friendly and welcoming environment.  I am looking forward to year five and the challenges in store.

    With warmest regards,

    Patricia A. Kenney

                         Linda S.

On December 6, 2010, I had my first session with JT. I was wearing a size
18W and not feeling healthy or good about myself. I was taking Prilosec
twice a day. But John and Adam took me under their wings and worked me
hard to get me into shape. They worked me hard -- but also understood where
I was coming from and knew how far to push me.

Today, I've lost 52 pounds, lost 16 inches off my waist, I recently had my
wedding ring sized down 3 sizes, I wear a size 8 and I feel GREAT!* (Winning
the Bodybugg in April 2011 also made a big difference in my approach to food
and "dieting.") I have changed my lifestyle, my eating habits, and my workout habits (and I no longer need Prilosec). The only downside to all of this is the clothes shopping I've needed to do -- *everything* has had to be replaced with smaller sizes (and I mean everything).

Having a personal trainer gave me the confidence I needed to get my body moving again. I like the one-on-one training and the privacy it offers - especially early on when I was ashamed of how I looked. The folks who work out at the same time I do (Pat, Michael, Tom) have become friends and we encourage each other. I look forward to seeing my trainer and my friends at FT. But make no mistake - it has been hard work! But the hard work is made easier because of my trainers and the friends I've made. Also - because I look and feel great as a result!

2 years ago I was at a point in my life where I knew I had to make a change. I was the typical ‘couch potato’ and had no self confidence in my appearance. The thought of joining a gym seemed like a good idea but I had no idea what to do when I got there – what equipment should I use? What type of exercise should I do and how much? Plus there was no way I would do this in front of all the other people there who knew what they were doing. Then 1 day I saw an ad on TV for Fitness Together. The one-on-one personal trainer -the private workout rooms – this was something that I thought might work but I still was hesitate. Two weeks later I received a post card in the mail from FT. I kept that card for 2 weeks before I decided to make that life changing call. I went in for interview at FT in Natick and before I left that night I signed up for my first round of training. I started going 3 times a week. Adam has been my main trainer from the start and has given me new found drive and confidence. He knows when to push me and what I’m capable of doing (even if I don’t). With Adam’s help, guidance, and encouragement I have lost a total of 30 pounds – gained 3 pounds of muscle – lost 5” off my waist – and have lowered by overall fat weight by 37%.* I can now even do push-ups which before were a joke. He has shown me that nothing is impossible and I leave after my sessions a little sore and a lot sweaty but nevertheless proud of what I’ve accomplished. I have also learned that exercise alone is not enough – nutrition plays a key role in overall fitness. If I can do this then anyone can as long as you make the commitment. The whole FT team is fantastic, friendly, and knowledgeable and most importantly, non-judgemental. The training is not easy at times but the reward outweighs the sore muscles and achy body. Make the call and go see what FT can do for you – it will change your life like it has mine.

Chris earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History/Sociology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2005. He is a 2014 graduate of the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI), holds a Russian Kettlebell Certification, and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).  A college professor of his stated, "structure dictates function".  He found this to be true while finding his own training philosophy. Proper form is essential before adding a load to any movement; thus, minimizing the risk of injury and the frustration it elicits.  Whether training a novice or a superior athlete there are a handful of fundamental human movements that when implemented into an appropriate program will improve strength levels and day to day quality of life.

Chris was involved in the competitive athletics of football, baseball, and basketball through college. However, after graduating he began working a construction job that involved a lot of travel, not sticking to an exercise program with any consistency, and adopting poor nutritional habits. Following 6 years of practicing these bad habits he ballooned up to 320lbs. Starting a family he realized a lifestyle change was essential to become the husband and father he wanted to be. He rededicated himself to fitness and nutrition, lost 80lbs thus far, and found his true passion in life. Now he wants to spread that passion to others as he has seen first hand the benefits it produces both physically and mentally.  Providing the tools and motivation on a client's journey of altering their lifestyle to achieve, and surpass, their goals is the ultimate reward as your trainer.

  • Vinny P
    Lincoln, MA

  • Janice D

    Katy (Natick)

    Stephanie Hall

    Patricia A. Kenney

  • Chris Giannini
    Personal Trainer
