Climbing stairs can be problematic for so many people because, in addition to working against gravity, taking the steps requires using muscles groups that are often skipped by traditional workouts. That’s why step aerobics were so popular several years ago.

Graduated steps, Jacob’s ladder and the treadmill offer a variety of "stair-related" exercises that can help you take your lower-body workout to the next level.
